Congrats X Porsche Guy,

What color/model "Z" are you getting?

What ever it is, I think we are all going to love driving these cars!

Ordered mine last Friday. Got a drop-out from what the dealer said was "first allocation of 17 cars". August to October window.

This is from a large south florida dealer.
Glad you decided to join in and glad to see a neighbour, I actually live just up the road from you in Lake Worth. You have missed the last 6 months of agony though.

What was the waiting time back then? I was in high school when the 240 was first introduced and I remember hearing stories of long waits.

I wish I could tell you I remember it like yesterday !! Got a Silver 70 Z by finding a remote Pennsylvania dealer, who for some reason had it sitting there without a buyer. Bought it for window at $3516. or something close to that.

At that time other sports cars were pretty rough and the Z was, as now, a value.

Have a Brickyard Touring 6MT on order. From the tests it looks like it should be excellent, especially considering the price for what you are getting.

As with the '70 Z, I bought it without ever driving one first. That's a lot of trust !!
One of my childhood friends put a deposit down in 1970 and received the car in 1972, after 2 MSRP changes and a mandatory air conditioner(made by ARA) and paid $4800. Your memory is close, the 240 listed for $3526 on the original MSRP. My friend drove the car for 7 years and I bought from him and drove it 7 more years. My wife used it for her primary car until I decided to modify it. Wonderful car, lightyears ahead of my 65 Triumph TR4.

I ordered a Brickyard Touring with AT in February. Great minds..... I've never seen one except in the pictures in car mags, NissanDriven and this forum. A leap of faith, I'm 6"5" and 285 but I am sure I will fit. We've had a number of large people who said they fit fine.
