Absolutely not ever again. I LOVE my Z...but I hate Nissan as a company.
I do not feel that they care about customer service. I did not like the way the whole buying, and ownership experience has been. If you read alot on these forums, the overwhelming responses seem to point to Nissan being anti customer service/care. You can't even have a good experience getting an oil change! Something so easy and basic can, and will turn out to go horribly wrong, a freakin' oil change man! I will no doubt go back to buying Honda. I never had any problems with their products, or service.

My fourth Nissan , started with a Pulsar and didnt get discouraged ( that car sucked ) and 720 4x4 pickup , R32 , and finally my Z . Ive also owned cars from many other brands. Normally i'm a Ford man , but they dont have anything that i wanted at the time.

My whole family is all about Nissans. No, we don't blindly pick cars b/c they're Nissans but we research and do our homework and we always end up with one.
2000 Maxima - bought new in 1/00 by my dad.
1990 300zx TT - bought in 6/02 by my brother.
2005 350z - bought new by me 11/05.
2006 Murano - bought by my mom 5/06.
Sooner or later my brother will pick up a used G35 coupe.

My third Nissan. No loyalty felt here at all. I bought the Datson B210 when I was in college and broke, and it was cheap. The Z because I wanted it, and a 240SX SE as a daily driver instead of the Z because it was cheap. The only one that I wanted was the Z, the other two wouldn't matter what they were.

I'm a Nissan owner for life. I have sold cars and worked as a finance manager in the car business for the last few years and after driving a different car home every night I have come to love and respect Nissan due to the fact that they build a solid and reliable car while keeping up the performance factor as well as reliability without raising the prices (like Toyota and Honda) to a ridiculously high price. I will always buy Nissan.

By the way, I've dealt with Nissan service (regarding window motor issues) and I've always gotten everything taken care of relatively easily by them by just explaining the issue. It seems that many people have problems with their service but I have had no such issues.

Agree with those who said "no loyalty".
Like JCat said, I don't buy brands. I buy cars.
Every single car company can make a crappy car, and every single car company can manufacture a winner.

Personally I love Japanese cars because I "wrenched" on alot of them in the Past and it is familiar to me more than American cars. Nissan builds quality cars and trucks...plus seeing GT-R's in action in Japan says that Nissan can build a car to compete with any manufacture around the world...Now we can get a taste of it.

Good thing CR has mentioned this finally in their reports.
I am not a Japanese car proponent so much anymore. I probably won't get a domestic any time soon, but I definately watch all the new cars wearily.
So far the Z is ok, probably no better than an industry average car, but more scrutiny being a 30k sports car. Compare this to the fit and finish of a Chevy Malibu and they are about the same. Toyota still owns in this category.
Having been a Honda owner of various types, I can attest to their general reliability. No high performance, but no surprises.

The only American cars I would buy are the Z06 and Ford GT. With that said all my cars were, are, and will be either Japanese or Euro unless something earth shattering hits the market. With that said I do love Nissan/Infiniti but I am not brand loyal. When purchase a new car I determine it by the following:
1) Class of car I want
2) Price range all the cars in the class falls into
3) What all I get for my money (specs and options)
4) Consumer reviews, resale, safety, and reliability.
5) Final review after test driver and the wow factor.
So if there's a great product out there that's not a Nissan under these criteria I'm more than willing to consider buying it.

The only reason I bought the Z was to customize it. I didnt like it as it stood, I never had a nissan before. I simply bought on an impulse and sent it off to get dismantled and built better then the junk they put out. Will I buy another one.........dont know? But I do love my Z to the point it has its own webpage. I have spent so much time and money on this car you have to love it for that fact alone. Hopefully Nissan as a company can regroup an build some new and better things and take car of there customers better.
