So. I ordered my 08 last month. Did it at the dealer... we had to use the 07 config guide because they hadn't received their updated material for 08s yet.

I choose: 6-speed Manual, GT, Side Airbags, Kick plates, cargo.
No Navi. (will do that my self).
They called it into the ordering center and confirmed the options/placed
the order while I was there. Neat.

Today I went to www.nissanusa.com (because I'm obsessed) and see that the 2008 Z is on there to "build". Cool.
When you choose the GT now, and 6-speed manual, You MUST also include the Navi-Side and curtain airbags. I unchecked the Navigation and it tells you that will force the config to be a 5speed automatic :-/
It also looks like if you de-select the airbags it removes the navi.. weird.
I went for the side curtains cause any safety I can get is a plus...

On average a manual transmission is cheaper to purchase then an-automatic. I assume that they force the manual GT's to come with more options so that you spend just as much money as the automatic... It's probably a matter of them cutting costs by limiting config options..who knows.

I'm wondering if my 08GT will come with a Navigation option... even though I didn't order that part.. would be neat supprise I guess.

thanks for the added input. interesting thought. I mean since I am sure there are some/most stages of assembly done by humans, will they; stop production to ask you if you want( agree to) the NAV, do as you request because, **** it, "we just have to put this plastic piece on instead of the other one that houses the NAV", or jsut put the NAV in and say *** you, you still gonna buy it.

Let us know what happens..

WTF? Regardless of whether or not they have the proper order sheet the information is still out there. The intarweb is your friend. If I were you I'd call your dealership instead of "just waiting." Call them and ask them to see the build sheet from the factory to make sure you're getting what you want. I seriously doubt they'd send you a 6M/T GT w/o Nav if you can't order one that way to begin with. From the looks of things, your car is either coming with Nav, without a third pedal, or without your forged Rays (i.e. you ain't getting a GT). Call your dealership NOW.
