Default What was your first mod to your Z?

I will be getting my DB Enthusiast in six to seven weeks (dealer is ordering it from Japan; got me $600 over invoice) and I wanted to know the first mods you all made to your Z's. Thanks!

my first mod was wheels and tires followed by Eibach suspension drop.

Next on the list is the Borla exhaust as well as a camber/caster kit.

My first mod will probably be something to raise my hp because I don't want anything too showy on the outside of my car first because i want to be able to support my exterior looks with some bang under the hood

I don't know if I want a body kit that attracts too much attention........WTF I drive A 350Z THERE'S NO WAY IM NOT GONNA ATTRACT ATTENTION!

I've also heard that the Z's suspension is not to smooth but that can be fixed.

After I drop about 10 g's into it better watch out

StopTech 13" brake kit. Followed a week after (and 3 days at the track) by some proper tires which were promptly tested with 2 more track days. I had owned my car for less than 3 weeks and had 5 track days already.

Jason- how much did the Stop Tech brake kit help out?

KP89- I agree with your statement; want to put some EiBach springs on for a smoother ride a Stillen exhaust to get the Z up to a even 400 hp.

Well, not the greatest Mod in the world, but my first Mod was to change that horrible antenna, with a little JDM IS300 one and get ride of the rear splash guards.

Any other Mods to come will mostly be small stuff, ground kit, clear side markers, a CAI, maybe the CF like front center panel dunno yet, oh and get ride of the bose system

Later, if I ever have enough money, some 19" rims and 14" brakes

Marc.

My first mod was already done when I picked up the car. I dropped off a set of clear corner reflectors at the dealer and they hooked me up upon delivery.

Hard to tell since I never really drove the car without the StopTechs - at least not at the track. But I'm really happy with them. Although, I still need to route some brake cooling ducts (hopefully before Lime Rock in two weeks). Even with the big brakes, I'm getting more heat into the rotors than I like. There is zero fade but the rotors are heating slightly unevenly (temps ranged from 460F to 520F along the face of the rotor after pulling into the paddock) and they are developing slight surface cracks. Once I get the ducts in, I think I'll be good on the brakes. The rear brake pads are way too small and only last about 2 days at the track though (with a race compound) so I'm going to have to set a bunch of $$$ aside for my rear pad budget.

Yeah, I have read a lot about the advantages of the "big brakes" especially if you race.

grounding kit, tint(not sure which came first) then rims and tires.

next will probably be suspension, or turbo/exhaust. those 2 things are more or less the only 2 things remaining that I want/need. of course when I say turbo, I mean full rebuilt at like 20 grand.
