I knew deep down that this would be the general opinion; to have a kill section; i came from www.allfordmustangs.com , theres a great, mature bunch in that forum and they have a kill section and everybody is content with it.

plus, i've been in a race. on a back road through a farm field, (against a 2002 mustang gt) and i got 1 1/2 car lengths by 80

The attitude here is as if to conceal something that happens, and pretend as if it doesnt happen...personally i love reading stories about the Z racing (whether winning or losing) and yes its VERY entertaining.

I agree... there's a bunch of dumb asses out there that don't know the proper meaning of "proper time and place." There's also a lot of dumb asses out there that don't properly know how to handle their car in different situations (like the kine that never been to a track or auto-x).

I sure as hell ain't one of the above.

So you'd rather risk a Neg. 2, loss of license, a several hundred dollar fine (at best), and potential serious injuries to yourself, your passengers, those in the other car, and anybody who happens to cross your path instead of spending a couple hundred on a track day???

If so, please sell your Z as quickly as possible and buy something else that is slower.

(You do realize that it's very likely that most insurance companies won't cover incidents if street racing is suspected.)

What I think he ment by that is some people don't live near a track. So they don't have the luxury of going to a track whenever they want.

Still no excuse. I don't think that there's anywhere in the US that is more than a few hours away from a track of some kind.

1) I actually have something faster than a Z (try read sig)
2) Find me a track. I'd go there every weekend if I could.

Do you want to test that theory?

Sorry, anywhere in the CONTINENTAL US that isn't close to the track.

However, Hawaii has quite a few older military airports, and there's a whole page dedicated to motorsports facilities in (or proposed in) Hawaii: http://www.na-motorsports.com/Tracks/HI/.

If you live in the Continental U.S. or Canada, check out Trackpedia.

When I lived in the mainland I used to go to the track all the time (still street raced, but nowhere near as often).

Our track out here has been closed for about 2 years now (closed before I got to the island). We have NOTHING. They won't let us use any airstrip for liability reasons (even though in Germany they'd let us use the airstrips). We don't even have go-carts.

Racers got 2 choices... do it as safe as possible, or just give it up. I'll tell you one thing we're not doing...

Now at the same time, we're all pushing HARD for a track. All the big-wigs can't agree on anything (like where to put it). We have a temp site, but nothing's built. I can't ****ing wait for them to pave the 1/4... especially since the site is only about a 5 minute drive from my house.
