The piece of the dash under my steering column seems like it is not lining up properly....one of the tabs was not clicked in properly. While trying to snap it back in I noticed a wire hanging out of my ignition wiring harness. I inspected ferther and now see that the dealership had litterally hacked into my harness to install one of their alarms while the car was on the lot. It looks like a 12 yr old did this install and removal of the alarm system. The main ignition wire has now been added to with three 1" pieces of wire and they are very poorly crimp connected back together. (why 3 pieces...they couldnt find a 3" piece of wire and do it a little cleaner?) And now I cant get my dash to fit back together properly, all of the holes and tabs line up correctly but I think the peice is warped or something. The dealership will be getting an earfull this afternoon. OK...thanks for listening to my rant, I'm done now.
Take some pics of their crappy work. Then go in and tell them that you have pics. They will fix it right. If not tell them you are gonna post the pics on this and other sites so that everyone can see the "quality" of work that they do there.
The solution is simple:
1. Take pictures
2. Right official business letter including the CC: section at the end
3. List Nissan of North America, Attorney General, and the Dealership owner.
4. Send letter to dealership manager and those listed under CC:
5. Wait for freaked out phone call asking you to bring your Z in for service and a free oil change.
6. On service day, be sure to ask for a free hat.
Works everytime for me. When copying the Attorney General (of your state) it gets attention. Even for the smallest things. Not to mention the dealership owner. They are all about service to people.
peptidbond.

Yeah, and I was thinking you could kiss my a$$. I think it's pretty sorry for a couple of old farts to trash a kid because his parents bought him a Z. It's their money; they could buy him a 1,000 lbs. of tootsie rolls if they wanted.
On the other hand, the ******** that sold Mark his car screwed his steering column and action should be taken. The bat thing was a joke but he could take a PROZAC (like you all would) and bend over.

OK guys....I dropped of my car this morning at the dealership. They are going to clean up and fix all of the harness they messed up and get the dash piece to go back together properly. I will get to inspect the wiring before the dash goes back in. While the car is there they are going to do the window grease tsb and also the driver seat tsb. I guess I will have to wait and see how it turns out now.
The one thing that kills me is that the dealership tells me that doing things like an aftermarket alarm can void certain warranties on the car. I talked to my service manager about this and he said that it could void a warranty. So I asked him how the dealership could "hack" into my harness without my knowledge or approval and then send me on my way. What if I went to another dealership or moved away from here....had a problem with that part or system of my car and this new dealership tells me my warranty is void.....then what? The service manager seems genuinely concerned and promisses me it will be fixed to my liking. I hope it is and I can post something good from this experience. Again, thanks for listening, I'm done.

I just got a call back from my dealership....they were able to locate the parts for the window tsb and install them....the seat parts they had to order. I wonder why some people are having a hard time finding a dealership that will do these tsb's....they took care of them for me no questions asked.
They also took care of my wire harness problem....although I have not seen it yet. I will keep everyone posted on the results....

jckolntrn, the non power driver side seats have a tendency to rock or shift during cornering.....I dont know if their is a tsb or not but my dealership was aware of the problem.
My windows seem to be fixed fine except for my drivers side which will have to go back in for a slight tweaking....I get a slight wind noise at @ 60mph. Other than that everything seems ok for now.
