If you drive the car car hard and stop the car hard expect quicker pad wear.
If you live in a city with alot of stop and go traffic, expect faster pad wear.
If people drive like jackasses in stop and go traffic (accelerating and stopping hard each time ya move) expect even faster pad wear.
Its a sports car and 9 times out of 10 people are going to drive it like a sports car. Cars driven hard wear faster then cars being grannied.
If you live in a city with alot of stop and go traffic, expect faster pad wear.
If people drive like jackasses in stop and go traffic (accelerating and stopping hard each time ya move) expect even faster pad wear.

I have an 03, changed my fronts at 32k, changed the rears at 45k (on most cars, the front pads will wear faster than the rears). I changed from semi-metallic to Akebono ceramic and now, goodbye brake dust and squealing. Ceramics may cost more up front but they last longer with less dust so it was worthwhile to me.
On a side note, my 03 stock rotors are really small, it's embarrassing when a Jetta has bigger rotors and brakes than you do. Just gotta love Nissan and their cost cutting.

No problems with mine. Changed from stock pads to Hawk HPS pads at about 30K miles just because I got a good deal on them. Never had any problems or strange sounds after 30K on my original 03's though.

You're driving a Z people. Maintenance is not the same as a honda or mazda. It is a sports car with brakes that perform well under pressure and high speeds. I would expect 15,000 to 25,000 mile life span for pads on this car. My wifes G coupe is the same way. I have replaced the brakes on my Z twice now at 47,000. That is the price you pay to be able to stop within 100 feet give or take a few feet. Check into that stuff before buying a 30,000 - 40,000 sports car.

I have had no problems with my brembo's. Very reliable, and they do make some noise but then again that is also very common with high performance pads. Only thing I could say is a pain is the brake dust.

My 05 brakes squeal when I step on them but they stop short and sure. My only complaint is that I constantly have to clean the front mags off bc of brake dust. I think brakes (and its VQ35) are the strong points of the Z, 60-0 in 115ft like a Porsche.

I'm like "Oh, traffic is starting to move... *accelerate* - *BRAKE HARD* ... Nm, this guy in front of me is just a jackass". DIAF those of you who do this!
Oh, and to stay on topic, my pads squeaked at about 30k miles and after changing them to a higher-quality brand all squeakiness has went away. I'm up to 10k on these new pads and still haven't had any squeaks.
