Did i Get shafted??
I talked to my dealer today and he told me that he talked to Nissan HQ. He said my car will be in production some time next month...and my 10 day window when i will receive my car is DECEMBER 2!!! I ordered my car JANUARY 22. Is it possible my dealer had their thumbs in their butt and didnt place my order when i gave them the down payment? Is it because some dealers have priority...I am from Gainesville FL? Is it because of the model i ordered (Touring with manual package silverstone)? Anyone on this whole thing order their car in JAN and get a date in DEC????
And a side note...Anyone know what color the dash lights up? I have seen pictures with it orange and some green. THANKS
BRIAN

Sounds like it. The original dealership that I had a deposit with (since Sept '01) told me I was in the second allocation. They were trying to tell me that the first allocation would come in Aug and the second in Sept. I saw through their BS and jumped dealers. I'm glad I did or I'd be getting a Dec car too.
The original dealership also told me I was #17 on the list when I first left my deposit in Sept '01. When pre- order time came around I was #41. I didn't even try to argue with them because I wouldn't do business with a shady place like that, anyway.

It is my understanding that almost all of the preorder cars will be delivered by the end of October with a few in early November. If you are getting a December date, I fear you are not on the preorder program. I think your dealer did a number on you.

No I know i am in the preorder program for sure, especially if my car will be in production next month (the 10 day window of DEC 2 could be the upper limit). But what sucks even worse is that i was the second person to order a Z from that dealership. Whatever I dont get it...there is nothing i can do is there??

Not much. Look at it this way: You won't have to start making payments until Dec. and you can wait for the supposed full percent prime rate cut that could happen by the end of the year.
That's pretty screwy that you you ordered that early as #2 and didn't get a pre- order slot. Ask your dealer when he submitted the orders. Did you ever get any confirmations in the mail?

OH yeah i got all the mailings...i am in the preorder program. I got confirmation from Nissan and everything (the number on the mailing was really high also which i knew was a bad sign-5000 something). Is there anyone from Nissan HQ i can call to see when my dealer placed the order? Anyone over there i can ***** at since my dealer probably wont do anything? I am probably waisting my time and i should just be happy that i am getting one--which i am.

Do you have lawyer in the family; or perhaps a friend? Sometimes it takes pressure to get what you deserve.
If not, you can contact Nissan directly.
Here is the Regional Office phone number for FL.

Thanks for the responses. My father is a lawyer...maybe he can call...Although, he thinks it is better that the car is coming in later because of the stock market. I think i'll call the regional office and see if they can give me any info...thanks for the number. As long as it all works out in the end and my car is in my driveway.
