Question >>>>>What do you guys think??<<<<<

well to make the long story short... i have a 06 black 350z and was thinking about getting a Lotus Elise.... 05-07 ... would you say it would be upgrading to a better car or down grading from 350z to elise? ....

Depends on your main use for the car.

If a DD, then a downgrade.
If a track car mostly, then definite upgrade.

i was also considering a lotus car. after seeing the interior in person (i didnt even need to get in to make my decision) i changed my mind immediately. the interior is EXTREMELY simple. i'd only get this car if you were just going to drive it on the track. i dont see how anyone could even feel comfortable driving it around as a DD

Too small. Good for a track toy only IMO.

i agree with you. the exterior is beautiful but the interior is well... bland. i know they want to reduce the weight as much as possible, but i mean.. wtf? lol

and you need to consider... even if YOU dont mind the crappy interior, should you be riding with a female she might not feel the same about the interior the seats are not comfy at all

Well, if you like cars like that, and you want to keep your Z, you could consider a Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice. GM actually didn't go that wrong on those cars...

If you're tall like me (6'4"), then obviously you wouldn't want them, but the turbo Sky is a pretty fun car. It'll keep up with the Z, if not outrun it. The Solstice suffers from GM-itis (i.e., gross interior), but the Sky's interior is slightly better. The 5-speed transmission is a little...hmm...iffy, but it's still a fun little car. And with the top up, the trunk space isn't that bad. It's not that good, either, but still. For short trips or weekend fun, not a bad deal.

*note* With a few upgrades, the Z would rape the Sky Turbo. But they're still fun. I got to drive one not too long ago. There's also a very interesting upgrade you can do: A Mallet LS2 V8 swap. I've seen a couple, and they're absurdly fast.

I worked for an exotic highline dealership in the early 00's. In my opinion Lotus cars are crap because of the lack of residual value they have, in addition to cheap looking interior parts (not sure if they've improved on this in recent years). Otherwise, they are fast but what real sports car isn't?

Your right on with this posting. I'm 6' nothing and I was right on the verge of being too small for this car. Since I no longer race, I wasn't too worried about the Sky Turbo vs. the Z but I had to be comfortable and I couldn't be that in the Sky. The Z just fits everything I was after.
I wouldn't mind a few hot laps in a V8 powered Sky though. It almost sounds like a modern day Cobra and that could be one wild ride!
