The Z seats are truly amazing .. there is absolutely no need to opt for Recaro seats .. because in all honesty the Z seats are about as good as it gets.

The factory cloth seats seem pretty good and have gotten pretty good reviews. There is one exception though. I don't remember right now where I read it but it mentioned that the cloth seats were worn and tattered in a pre-production test car. Easily susceptible to wear and tear (??). IF that's true in the production versions then Recaro/Sparco replacement seats wouldn't be a bad idea. That is what I was thinking when I had read that. Or get it redone in leather if that's your thing.

Anybody remember reading this and where it came from?

Default my dilemna as well...

1. Get the stock seats with the optional side and curtain air bags.... or

2. Swap the current stock seats with my Recaros...

VQ.... regarding your post...

1. That car looks like the Silvia... correct ?
2. Where did you find that picture ?

3. The seats look the same as the ones in the R34 GT-R... except for the material.

Oops. I forgot about the side and curtain airbags. So much for that idea.

I sat in the cloth seats and they felt very supportive and comfortable. The real test however is how they feel after driving for several hours at a time. I wouldn't make a decision about swapping them until after that kind of test.

Default comfort level

I thought about getting Sparcos or Recaros,

but comon guys, while they provide awesome support, they are not that comfortable when driving over crappy roads for a long time (Chicago).

For the comfort of daily driving, I'll stick with the stocks.

For racing though, Sparco or Recaro may offer a significant weight reduction, but I dont know how much more support they would add since the Z's stock seats have been praised on their lateral support in just about every review I've read.

Guess I'll take a "wait and see" attitude on this one
