Default the ZEDTowing a jet ski

First of all, Happy New Years to everyone, hope you had a memorable one.

I am thinking of buying a jet ski and would like to know if anyone has ever towed a jet ski with the Z?

It should be able to handle the weight, if i had another car i wouldn't have to tow it with the Z but i really want a jet ski and the only way to transport it is with the Z . I'm thinking that Nissan don't supply the tow bars and an after market one would have to be installed??

What does your owners manual say about towing?

No big deal , go for it . The trick is finding a tow hitch.

i hate it when people try to treat the Z like a SUV and feel the need to want to tow something around with it.

There are quite a few autocross/track guys towing tire trailers so towing a jetski shouldn't be a problem. Years ago, I towed a 16' catamaran behind by 280Z.

I am sure it could be done. Probably without any problem. My .02 is it is just sad when I see a sports car towing a trailer no matter what the trailer has on it (tires, jetski, etc..). Just buy some Cheap truck for a few thousand dollars and tow the jetski..

I towed my ZXi900 with my Mazda MX6 for 2 years no problem, ignore the ignorant. It will work just fine, just make sure you get a low trailer so you dont have to back the car to far in the water.

Like others said, it can probably be done, on the other hand I have never seen a 2 seater sports car tow anything before. Just hope I have a camera when/If I ever see it. i did see a late model Mustang towing jet skies before. was odd to say the least.

i've seen alot of sports car tow small trailers for dirt bikes, jet skis etc. We do things differently here . Thanks for the replies, if it's too difficult prob chip in with a mate to buy the bigger trailers that can fit 2 jet skies on.

good thread.. i was also wondering where to find a hitch to tow my sportbike but i think i'll just borrow a friends truck because towing has more to do with the transmission and subframe than power... both things you don't want to replace.
