I had my car parked for 2 hours and come back to find egg all over my drivers side door handle and rear quarter panel. I took her home and washed the egg off immediately and notice that the egg actually took quite a bit of paint off on impact. I'm pissed. Should I file an insurance claim? I'll have to get it repainted or replace the panel.$$$$$$ What do you guys think? I wont be able to live with it for very long. AND just earlier today I got a tire fixed from a nail and the tire place scratched my wheel, they are stockies so I wasn't going to make that big of a deal out of it but with this as well I'm getting pretty fed up.







I dont even know what the 2 blotches are they just showed up in this picture. And the one towards the bottom right in the last pic is bird **** from the last owner. Thats the one good thing, of all the sides they could have damaged they picked the right one.

I'd file a claim. It should not count against you at all. If it does, find another Ins company...

So your saying that my Insurance shouldn't go up? That would rule! Cause that bird **** pisses me off pretty bad and my $78/Month insurance makes me jump for joy. If I can get all that fixed without having to pay anything that vandal loses!!!!

 

The egg whites and yolk didn't leave any damage that is just where the egg hit the car!

 

Oh, and it was night. I'm beside myself as to how it took that much paint off though. Look at how far away from the impact that the shell damaged the paint!!

That sucks ***. My Z got egged in that exact same location and looks exactly like that. I was quoted 600-900 to repaint the panel. Lucky for me though, I caught those stupid kids and made their parents pay for it.

Yeah it really does. BUT look how bad that panel looks anyways. It needs to be replaced the rest of the car looks really good that panel is bunk, its cursed!! I should just replace it

 

no prob, but yea, it happened to me coming home from dinner with my girl, I heard a loud thump, and I was like what the hell was that, then I saw two dumb asses in a cr-v, I think looking at me with a dumb look, and I was like those ***** threw something at me. So I chased them till they hit a curb, then i got out, scared the **** out of them, got their money, shoes lol and license plate # and reported them. Next thing I know i got 2 $500 money orders from their parents haha

I so know how u feel exact thing happan to me on 10/30/07.
I had my car 6 days new & someone thru a egg while I was driving.
Same exact size outline of egg like yours but mine was on front hood.
Cost came to $650.00 to repair where yours looks to be fender only?
I went thru my insurance but I had to pay $200 deductible.

Won't go against you & your rates won't go up as it's vandalism & not your fault!

Moral of story: every dog gets their day & karma is a real bit*h!

Actually not true. The egg yolk is what causes most of the damage. It has acids in it. It eats through the paint and causes the problem you have.
