its not weird, its called lying, lol!
I dont even know if he even had an RSX!
stock air box on a z is not easy to be overlooked when you open the hood. IT IS THERE !!!
I am very sorry about his misfortune if this case is REAL. But it's likely not...

Ha

The GM @ Honda of Lynnwood said they will pay the repair cost and are rated #1 in the area in customer service?? Sounds good to me!

For anyone confused, the intake & box were in place, but apparently there was no filter inside??? That's what happens with nissan from honda I guess.

Reading the first quote reminded me of the second one.

I still think you blew it up beating it Autocrossing it or something. Did you take my advice or they just called you and said they would take car of it, be a little more specific please. At least they took car of it, that would have been expensive.

This kid has been a my350z forum member for exactly 41 days now. He's had his car for about 2 weeks. Hasn't even been to a meet yet. The entire NW already wishes he never bought a Z and stumbled upon this site.

Why in the world didn't you get the car inspected by a trusted mechanic before you bought it?

its such a surface thing, i dont even think a mechanic would check airboxes for filters or lack thereof, just like they wouldnt check if there is gas in your tank.

Wow, wtf did I just read? Sounds like a bunch of babies. If I had spent over $2k on wheels that didn't fit right, I'd be upset too; especially if the seller didn't treat it as a high priority. The language between the both of you was ****-poor. You should have just given the guy the contact information for the shop and washed your hands of it before it got as far out of hand as it did. I feel embarrassed for the both of you.

My 350Z (2003) eventually starts after sitting for 20 minutes and I drive to the nearest dealership, higher revs the car is fine but the idle is sputtering and ready to die out.

RESULTS:
Nissan tech says the car had no air filter and they believe it sucked something into the engine and bent a valve.

Honda authorized payment for nissan to diagnose it further and check if indeed there is a bent valve (3 hours of labour)

They say my warranty does not cover this sort of issue due to neglect & Honda's sales manager claims, "nothing leaves this dealership without an air filter"
I wonder if this Honda dealership's insurance covers neglect.

lol...try reading it again chronologically. I basically did exactly what you're saying I "should have" and in a timely fashion. Also, he edited his posts after the fact, and mods deleted some other posts, so you're missing some of the good stuff he was slinging.

I really hope Honda does take back his Z. Good riddance!

take a LOUIEVILLE SLUGGER with you as your Friend for advice. . .

I honestly do not think a valve is bent . either previous owner F _ _ _ _ D up the car. .and thats why they traded it in to the dealer. .or you need a new AIR MASS, and or THROTTLE BODY. . .thats jut my Opinion. .

Another Exampe of why I do not buy Leased or trade in Vehicles!
