So, a dealership sold me a car rigged to explode
Footnotes:
I bought a 350Z from Lynnwood Honda less then 48 hours ago (1/2/08),
I was driving in traffic last night (1/3/08) and the revs drop and the car dies out.
My 350Z (2003) eventually starts after sitting for 20 minutes and I drive to the nearest dealership, higher revs the car is fine but the idle is sputtering and ready to die out.
RESULTS:
Nissan tech says the car had no air filter and they believe it sucked something into the engine and bent a valve.
Honda authorized payment for nissan to diagnose it further and check if indeed there is a bent valve (3 hours of labour)
They say my warranty does not cover this sort of issue due to neglect & Honda's sales manager claims, "nothing leaves this dealership without an air filter"

yeah demand that they take the car back and refund all money/trades i know in texas there is a lemon law for 3 days after the purchase you can do that. i cant remember if it is a federal or a state law though

Just call your bank where you got the loan from. Tell them you refuse to keep paying for the car. The bank will have to call up the dealership and tell them what's goign on. Trust me, Honda will fix your car. THey rather do that then get the car back and lose the money they made.

Don't spend the money on a lawyer just go in with a calm demeanor and talk to the GM (General Manager) of the dealer and explain to him what happened. Why would anyone remove the air filter from their own car would be my angle, I would say I love this car it was my dream and now it beginning to be a nightmare I was just beginning to enjoy it and so on. If that doesn't work then take the hard@$$ approach of dropping names like the BBB, local paper, local television, Lawyer. This story sounds a little sketchy though man. Keep us posted I'm curious as to how this will turn out.

^^^^^lol I'm really beginning to question this story it's just hard to beleive, plus the OP talks about autcrossing in one of his previous posts and he wanted to buy a bunch of aftermarket parts, what dealer service dept is open at night he claimed he was driving in traffic at night and it just died but now runs only at high rpms but drove n traffic for awhile. I might have analyzed this too much but IM CALLING BS you were beating the $hit out of it and messed something up now you want to make it look like it was the dealers fault is my guess.

NO offense OP
but in some threads you are claiming you have brides...other you claim you are looking to get in on a group buy....i honestly think someone who owns a modded RSX would look under the hood of a used car....
I just don't believe this
