Question Wondering about getting a 350z new to Nissans Help!!

I currently have a BMW it is getting old and high mileage,I just got aproved for a 17k Capital One Blank Check.I saw a 2003 350z touring in le mans orange with modena interior and navigation 6MT and 68k miles on it there asking $16,995 is tis fair? Also being 350z owners is this considered high mileage and what are some common issues at this mileage? My BMW has 200184 miles on the the odometer with no major issues.Well thanks for any input guys I may be a fellow Z owner soon I sure like the color combo and all!!!

68k on an 03 isn't too bad imo. I'm not sure about the price (someone else has to chime in for price), but i was wondering wat model bmw you have and year. Sounds like your down grading and you should always upgrade imo.

My car is a 1994 325i its lowered on bilstein &Eibachs has custom wheels a Dinan tune and a couple other minor mods but it also has 200K miles so anything is an improvement lol.I really have my eye on this 350z as my brothers girlfriends brother just bought a touring Z and I fell in love witrh the looks and performance. This car I have my eye on is one of the most eye catching colors Ive ever seen before and the interior and navi only add to its appeal.

Yeah that is a nice color scheme. That's a pretty average price in my area... Maybe talk them down a bit. Look around the forum you'll find pleanty on mech. issues (tire feathering, bad trans.)

Are you buying from a dealer? If so, ask about a warranty of some kind.

The 350Z motor seems to hold up well to miles. I think that the key is going from 200,000 to 68,000 miles. That's a smart move.

My 03 has had zippo problems after 5 years & 45,000 miles. Not all had the problems you will read about. However, I would:

-Have the car checked out by a mechanic you pay & trust.
-See if maintenance records are available from previous owners.
-Run a carfax.

Offer them 17K drive out..
17k including all taxes, and fees.
16,500, plus taxes, and fees will
take you well over 17K.

Very, very true. You have to have a great deal of patience especially on big dollar purchases.

If you are looking at a Z with 68,000 miles, there is no warranty.

“Most” to me means 50 percent plus. That's ridiculous. For objective reliability see Consumer Reports.

I got the same amount from capitalone 14 months ago. I definitely think you can get 17k out the door ( I got 17,300 including TTL and other fees). Mine had 73k on it but didnt have navigation (touring model). I havent had any problems with the transmission and i ve put 26k on it since nov 18 06. Only probs were the windows (had to replace one window motor and another peice because the spool snapped). Actually I had the same asking price too...haha. I think you can get them to 15,900.

Go private party route. Look for a one owner car, with a clean interior and exterior. Also run a carfax report. Ask the owner if he or she has all of the service paperwork. 68,000 miles seems high to me.

Forget your CapitalOne preapproval. Start putting away $500 a month in an interest-bearing account; in three years, you will have more than $18,000. Then buy a 2006 or 2007 Z with cash and have no car payment.
