Well make that two of us that kind of got away. My day in court was today as well. He found me guilty, I guess but was only $25 plus court cost and no points! So nothing is on my record.. He said I was doing 50 in a 35!

Should I try that for a 62 in a 45? Think it would be more likely the cop would show?

I cannot say for sure. Are you a LUCKY person?

I figure it is worth the try. If you get a ticket plead not guilty and make the cop show up in court. If he does not show, you win. If he shows tell him you were not speeding and you think his radar gun was off. I would have asked him when the last time his gun was calibrated and what calibration equipment was used to do that calibration. I would then have asked what checks THAT equipment for accuracy because something OBVIOUSLY was wrong with that gun because I DON"T SPEED!

If the cop wins repectfully ask the judge for traffic school and sometimes even if you are not eligible they will let you go anyway because they feel your pain!

So now I have 7000 miles and I am back to ZERO tickets!

Thumbs up

He did not use a gun to catch me it said he drove behind me, it was an unmarked car didn't see it until it was too late

I could claim his speedometer wasn't calibrated

That was supposed to be "Did NOT use a radar gun"

What's up with the forum? It's gone screwy!

I have... um... 5, well no 6 I was bad in my old car (toyota highlander)... for some reason I drove the highlander like a Z and am driving the Z like a highlander... go figure...

1: rolling stop: 50ft from my house, late at night, 2mph through stop sign- went to court, not guilty, thrown out

2: 61 in a 40- I was passing a truck w/ trailer that was swerving about to hit me, cop- went to court, plead guilty but stated reasoning, got 10 hours community service, probation passed, off record

3: pulled over for reckless driving (I know, I was dumb ), just got b*tched out by cop and let go

4: pulled over for registration 1 week overdue. got renewed, thrown out

5: pulled over for 46 in 40-warning

6: pulled over for 53 in 40 while driving girlfriends moms car- was told to slow down and sent on my way

So, 6 tickets that *should* be on my record, and, well, none are

never in the Z, but Ive had 3 tickets, no convictions. 1st one was 69 in a 40, that was a rough one... I postponed, went to court with pictures showing there was no speed limit sign posted, the road was a 6 lane divided road, default speedlimit of 65. cop didnt show anyway, dismissed(we guess he had others plead the same defense and decided not to waste his time with them anymore)

next was a stop sign, which I stopped at and then stupidly peeled my tires in front of a cop, he just thought I didnt stop tho. so he gave me a failure to stop ticket, then came the kicker, if I plead not guilty he will bump it up to reckless driving. a few calls to IA and he didnt show up(this is america, they cant tell me I cant plead not guilty).(I had to pay court costs on this one 100$)

last was like 61 in a 45. cop wasnt visible from 500feet, under trees, dark night, all lights off. took pictures, postponed, went into court. with the photos they agreed to wave all fines, no points, I just had to go to defensive driving school. I did, 0 points, 0 fine. the dd school cost 65$.

where I live cops have all black cars, so we took my dads black gran prix, parked it where the cop was, walked 500 feet up the road, and took pictures, it was clear that you couldnt see anything.

This is going to sound like BS but I don't really care. From age 16 to about 20 I had a running count of the times I had been pulled over and how many tickets on my record. Score: 30-1. The majority were minor speeding violations that I got out of on the spot (though one of those incl. 110 in a 55), a couple were no shows, but the majority of the ones where I was issued a ticket were canceled due to driving school (maybe 10).

How? When I first got to college I got a ticket during the first month or so. Instead of telling me to go to court and ask for driving school the cop gave me a number to call. All I had to do was call the number and tell them that I was told to apply. After 5 trips or so, I thought I was caught. The girl said something to the effect of "You have been to driving school more than your allowed limit." Thinking that was the end of it I was about to hang-up the phone before she came back with something like "You will have to pay double as long as 4 or more (guessing here) classes are on your record. They come off after 2 years like points on your D/L." I lost the number after I moved out of that city, but it saved me tons of money and points.

Got a job and started getting lazy about fighting the tickets. Also I had more money so I just mailed in the payments for the fines. I got a 3 mo license suspension in about a year and a half.

Sorry that 30-1 (30 stops, 1 ticket) is really 29-1. Count is probably more like 40+ stops and 7 tickets or so.
