Default Clunky 1st to 2nd???

hey, whenever i shift from 1st to 2nd gear, SOMETIMES, i get this clunky, rattling sound, like the sound when ur about to stall. but this is only from 1st to 2nd. all the other gears are fine. i was wondering if any of u guys have encountered that, or know what thats all about.

I kinda have the same sound on first gear.... 2-6 is perfectly fine. I have no clue what it is but if you find out, let me know...

I had the same problem until switching to Redline. Do a search for Redline and I think you'll find what ya need! Good luck

recently Ive been getting lots of fun noises and feelings... the clunk, that Id think of as a clunk, I always got, only when cold, Id go into third, and when I put the clutch in to go to second itd kinda clunk.

now I get the worst sound ever when I back out of the garage(again cold tranny symtom only) and then sometimes I shift to 1st when coming to a stop, like 3-5mph, not the best for it, but owell, not the end of the world, should just hurt the synchros, except now sometimes the shifter will go in and out in and out, this is with the clutch in, yet it feels like its slipping in and out of gear notches, or could it be the synchros?

sadly at 6000miles I think my car is on its way to needing a new transmission.

I have a clunky 1-2 shift when cold, but everything else is fine.

17,000 miles and it really hasn't changed since I've owned the car.

I'll probably put redline in @ 20,000 or 30,000 miles to see how that goes.

Mine does that pretty bad too. I had my parents drive it to see if it was just the way I shift or what, but it did the same way with them. Someone suggested shifting at higher RPM's and I tried that and it does a little better, but still not as smooth and quiet as i would like.
