Default What's Nismo About My Z??

Hey Fella's

I'm new to My350Z forums, recently purchased a Daytone Blue '05 350Z (automatic) with 8500miles on her. Not new to VQ engine's or sportscars, also own a '04 Nissan Murano SL and '07 Mustang GT.

It belonged to a friend of mine who doesn't know that much about cars. It has Nismo stickers everywhere, on the hood, the rims, the back.

Recently saw it also has a Nismo Intake and what appears to be a Nismo Exhaust. Were's these dealer options? If so which other minor "upgrades" might my car have?

What sort of maintenance does the Intake require?

Dien

Get it dynoed because he has an intake and exhaust?? that would be a waste...

anyway, those are really low miles. i'm asuming the wheels are nismo also. post some pics, then take off the stickers.

what if he has more than just an intake and an exhaust? He doesn't know all of what he has. but a mechanic could prolly tell you. But there are other things that he might not be able to tell you unless he took some stuff out to check. you never know. You prolly got a new clutch/flywheel, pulleys, etc. The dealer didn't have a list of stuff that aren't stock on the car?

Your friend knows a bit about cars (especially Z's) if he chose Nismo parts for upgrades.

You know, stickers add 50hp and then the fact that they are nismo stickers should bump it up to 65hp easily .

Dealers can install NISMO items at the customers request, and add the cost to the total cost of a new vehicle. I don’t know what is installed on your car.

Here are a few pictures. Took them before i started this thread. I'll take a few other ones of the Nismo emblems on the car, intake and exhaust along with an underbody pic.

I tested against my mustang GT (which has 20" boat anchors). My dad drove the Z. It was a close race but the GT won with about half a car length.

1-2nd the I took off right away, by mid third the Z caught up to my trunk.

Have to admit that the Z shifts smooth compared to the slushbox my GT has.

Please start by taking the nismo stickers off your wheels. Those are the stock 17"s wheels from the factory. You definently do have nismo exhaust though.
