Default Manual Gate Question

Hi! A newbie here with a question. I bought a new 2007 Z 3 months ago. It is an AUTO but I have been driving it almost exclusively in the manual gate. You may ask "why did you get an Auto if you are always going to be in the manual gate"? Well, I am in my late 40's and plan to keep the Z for 15-20 years unless something changes. It is a garage car. I am a Firefighter and if one of my limbs get injured,(it takes all 4 with the manual) I will not be driving the Z. Did I want the manual? You bet! I had to make a calculated bet. When you get older...the parts wear out. So the question is...Does it hurt the transmission to perpetually drive the Z in the manual gate mode? You all know 100 times more than I do on Z's and I appreciate your help. Thanks!

It shouldn't be any worse than a person not knowing how to drive a manual. I'm sure if maintenance was kept up, there shouldn't be any major issue. BTW, there's nothing wrong with 5AT. People have their priorities.
