Default Any ex S-chassis owners in here?

Im against the fence right now about jumping off the S-chassis band wagon since everybody and their moms on it. Here's my current situation. I sold my S14 kouki in the states due to me getting stationed in Japan for 4 yrs. I have a zenki S14 Silvia now with an S15 Spec R engine. Originally, the idea for me buying the car is to bring everything back stateside minus the chassis. But now that ive been seeing how stupidly expensive and hard it is to find an S14 in the states thats not been molested like an 8 yr old altar boy, im basically having 2nd thoughts. If i dont bring back the parts, im more than likely gonna pick up a Z33 when I come back in 3yrs. Trying to see if anybody got any input for me. Only 2 or maybe 3 things thats turning me off from the Z33. 1) Car payments ($500 a month is gonna kill me) 2) Sports Car Insurance rate and 3) Parts are ****ing expensive for you guys...

Well Z33 or a G35 coupe just cuz theyre sexier...but then again, average roughly $6-8k more than Z33s.

I have an S14 zenki as well as a Z33. Great cars both of them. I really like my S14 since it is much easier to work on and much cheaper to build than the Z. Light and nimble the only thing from me preffering it over the Z is that I'm stuck w/ the KA24DE engine (not planning to so an SR20 anytime soon). Now yours on the other hand must be an absolute joy to drive when the roads get twisty and do pretty really well in the straights too. If you have the opportunity to bring your JDM S14 back state-side, that would be a prestigious car to drive, more so than a Z33 IMO.

Yah, but also 3 yrs is a long time not to buy more parts for an S-chassis if do I decide to go Z33. Or better yet, a long time to start hoarding Z33 parts from the other side of the pond, instead of S-chassis parts.

Hows the theft rate among Zs? Thats one of the biggest reason I want to steer clear off S-chassis. I remember the time when nobody knew what the hell a 240sx was... Theft was rare and far in between...

yup, owned a S-chassis for 9yrs. Im about to step up to a Z and cant wait.

Car payments I got a sick quote with an online insurance company $89.89 a month cant go wrong !!

as for parts, people sell quality used parts all the time if you want to keep the price down, but to be honest from my short time looking around (6 months) i have yet to see a HUGE price difference between my 240 and the Z (parts wize)

^^^$90 cdn a month insurance for a Z?!?! That insurance company in the states too cuz if they are...YOU NEED TO TELL THE WHOLE WORLD ABOUT IT. And I thought $180 a month was good, and that was on a 97 240sx.

TD Meloche Monnex :

Your total auto insurance premium as determined online on November 12, 2007:
$67.67 / month* or $812.00 / year
(tax included, where applicable)
