Default Do you think 25,000 is too much?

I know there are tons of these threads, and i already checked the blue book on my car.

I have a 2004 Nissan 350Z Track 40,000 miles

My mods alone would justify the extra 4 or 5 grand from the bluebook value, and then there is another 4,000 in the stereo system.

Mods don't actually add value to your car. Best bet i think would be to part out your mods and sell it stock for less. If you can sell it for 25k though to a private party more power to you. i have seen many threads in the sale section of people dropping 20,30,40 grand into their car and only turning it aorund for about 30k.

Mods typically don't add any value to the car, if anything could make it harder to sell.

Best thing is to remove as many mods as you can, sell them, then sell the car as close to stock as possible. Be prepared to wait a while in this economy for any price, on the mods and car.

I seriosly doubt you will get very close to 25 grand for a 4 year old track Z, with or without mods but ya never know.

If I was in the market for a 25kish 350z I would be looking at a 2006-2007 with 15k miles or even just going with a new one for a little bit more.

Everything that has been said already in this thread is pretty much spot on. The only way that mods typically add resale value to the car is if you fin d buyer who wants exactly what you've done to the car or if the car is completely transformed into something unique, like a widebody car or similar to that....and even then recovering your investment is a crap shoot.

Most people can get a new 07/08 Enthusiast for a few grand more...

So I doubt you can get that much.

like others said, part out the Mods/Stereo and then sell the car for 21ish.

I don't know if it's worth 21 with 40k on the odo.

EDIT: It really depends on what part of the country you live in.

a NEW 07 350z base invoice is $26k so you'd be dreaming at $25k for your 40k miles z!!

also depends on your location. here in hawaii Z's are a dime a dozen and you'd be hard pressed to sell a Z like yours here for $20,000.

+1

You could get a new 08 350z base for 26,000. There's no way in hell anyone is going to pay 25k for a 5 year old model when they could get a new one for no more than $2000 more (irregardless of what trim it is).
