Default Knock on 0 Column with Utec using Speed Density.

Hey guys, I posted this here since most FI'ed cars uses Speed Density with Utec. Lately I have been getting some random knock on my 0 Column under ECU control (No Boost). This happen mainly on part throttle or just around before I hit 0psi boost. My A/F under no boost is the same the first time I got my car and never had this problem before. ECU doesnt seem to pull much timing when there is knock. I might clean my MAF in a few day and see if that help.

Here are some logs and any input is appreciated.

Post up your knock sensitivity as well as a chart of whats done to your car. That'd help alot What kind of fuel are you using as well? Also whats it like on the transition into boost, how's your a/f in the 10% column?

What year is your G and what size injectors do you have?

I always use 93 octane and also tuned for 93 octane. I have also used different Brand of Gas and have gone at least 4 tank of gas and still have problem. There is nothing done on the car except this thing start happening when the weather got colder. My A/F on my 10 Column is about 11.8-12.2 give and take so I don't think there is a big jump there. I was going to reduce the sensitivity on my Knock Threshold but never had this problem in the summer.

I have a 2005 G35 6MT (Revup) and have 440cc injector.

It probably is knocking, which is a problem on the RevUp with boost when not setup properly. I would not recommend changing the knock parameters as they are lower (less sensitive) than we normally set them up already.

With 440cc injectors you have to take a good amount of fuel out of the MAF voltage which tends to increase the timing = mid throttle knocking. When we put together a similar setup we Flash the ECU to scale for the 440cc injectors and take out a few deg of factory timing in the pre-UTEC speed density zone.

Hope this helps,

Most of my knock happen in the 2000-3000 rpm (90% of the time) and my threshold there is set to 100 (max is 125). Are you saying that 100 is high for that rpm? I did some research and they suggest to set it up to 90 at 2000-3000rpm. I rarely get any knock higher than 3000.

Thanks for the input though!
