Just came across this by accident. Looks like an official Nissan promo. They start out with the first gen Z and end it with what looks like an '07 SMB GT.
Ideal length for a TV spot so I reckon that's what it was created for; anyone ever saw it on TV?

This site has a bunch (if not all) of the previous Nissan Z commercials and promos

Wow, I seriously watched that about thirteen times. I have to say that Z33 at the end looks ****ing amazing. But still... Something about the Z32 that I can't get over. Some day I'll have to have one.

One of the things I like about this video is that they made it a point to showcase some of the unique paint jobs Nissan has used on the Z over the years; from the pale yellow on the first one to the SMB on Z33; they have tried to focus on a lot of them.
Another thing I like is the "longing" theme; people intrigued by, and wanting, a Z. On a few occasions, I (and I am sure you) have returned to my parked car to find fingerprints plastered on one of the two side windows (tinted windows not being conducive to non-invasive "peering"). Once I watched from a restaurant window as a little kid did so while walking past with his parents. A little homage to Nissan everytime this happens to anyone's Z...
I wish Nissan had used this for a TV spot. As a marketing professional, I love these nostalgic pieces and they historically do well for the marquee.

When? Not in the past 2 years for sure or I would have remembered. And earlier than that wouldn't be possible since the Z33 the show is '07+.
I think you're thinking of the old Z32 commercial ("Just when they were about to catch me, the Twin turbos kicked in...") that ran in a mid-late 90s Super Bowl. Someone here had the You Tube link in their sig and I watched it a couple of years ago.
