I'm curious... what was the last Honda that you owned? Year? MOdel? I currently have an '06 Civic Si which in my opinion is the best Honda made since the Prelude was discontinued but I absolutely, positively can not wait to sell it and get a Z. The new Hondas aren't all sunshine and fluffy bunnies like the fan base would love to convince itself that they are. Creaks, rattles, nasty 3rd gears, crappy paper thin paint, interior materials that scratch and wear out with a glance and service departments that accuse you of anything they can to shirk any responsibility to fix your car. Unless you're going to change your tune and sing the praises of Acura (which isn't that much better) please hop off or your fanboy wagon.

If you have so many reliability problems with a Honda I doubt you'll do much better with any other make.

Btw there's a tsb for that third gear grind. Every car has problems, if there is a fix and you don't do it then you just don't know how to take care of your car.

The only two true performance cars that Honda made were the Nsx and the S2000. While preludes, civics, rsxs, are sporty, they aren't performance cars because of their drivetrain. Best Honda made... pretty bold statement don't you think?

My problems are thin paint and creaks. The creaks and rattles are new (within the last monty) and I prided myself on not having them up until now.

Know about the TSB. I'm a little overly involved in the 8thgen community. I personally haven't had that problem with my car. I am one of the lucky ones.

I did fail to remember that the NSX was discontinued in '05 and that was one hell of a machine and that the S2k is still in production so I will give you that. But I'm trying to figure out where I even said that the SI, prelude and RSX are sports cars.. oh my bad, I didn't. They aren't. They're economy cars that are sporty and fun to drive. No, it's not a bold statement because its just how I feel.

You own an SI don't you?

You're right you never mentioned them being sports cars. I stand corrected. I just found it hard to believe your idea of the "best Honda made since the prelude" is purely based on small things such as paint and gear grinds. I also found it hard to believe that you're discrediting Hondas due to those small issues that other cars probably have loads more of. Torque sure, but what I've always believed is that Hondas have been (overall) the most reliable make.

Oh and btw I don't own an Si. Not sure where you concluded that lol. Too many civics on the road for me to rock one.

I'm not discrediting them at all. I love Hondas, I'm tired of rampant fanboism on any make, this included. I'm a diehard car fan. Period. We Honda owners can be rabid when it comes to supporting our cars though, I am not immune to having been that way. I used to be on a Camaro site and got so disgusted by people's attitudes and tired of defending Honda that I said forget it and left.

Torque steer! OMG, please do not get me started. Lol. I have a mean love/lust for the 2nd gen TL. But every time I drive one I moan and complain that they should have been RWD or at least AWD. The 6sp MT in that car plus FWD just annoys the crap out of me so now I just stare at them like a creepy car molester.

I completely agree, there are many cars Honda should have made rwd instead of fwd.

Hm. My Z makes me happy. It's not the fastest car in the world but it gets the job done. Zero problems yet now it has 25,000 miles on it and bought it with 18,000. And the only comparable Honda to that is either a beat up 160,000 mile Integra or Civic running on its 5 or 6th engine or a high mileage S2000.

Now I paid a few thousand less than KBB for my 06 Base with 18,600 miles. You know what though the only S2000 (an there was only 1 available in a radius of 100 miles) was an 03 with 67,000 miles for $24,000 with the same options as my Z.

The only advantage of the S2000 over the Z is power to weight on the track. Top end the Z is faster, mid range the Z is faster, (wait til I hit VTEC), and the Z makes torque. Something Honda's still don't know anything about.

3.5>2.2 3.5>2.0

I was preparing to dissect your post until I read this.

I think you belong over at the domestic forums.

I've seriously not read a single thread with the word Honda in it without some 350z owner mentioning torque. I guess if it makes your ***** any bigger then go ahead.

i like the fact that so many z owners got mad when some dissed the z but they diss on hondas with out ever owning one...my two hatches are not the fastest things out there but they hold there own against the big v8's and thats all i care about im not into building imports to beat other imports i do it to shut up the guys with the big mouths with there domestic cars especially corvette owners

Use a hosting site like imageshack, photobucket or tiny pic. Right click the pic, highlight the image address and copy. Then open up the reply, click on the little box with the mountain and sun in it and rightclick- paste. Viola, you'll have a pic posted.

This was a "help-me-out" threak, but it quickly turned into a battle of the sexes over freakin car manufacturers. Who cares if its a honda or nissan. You people could drive a pinto as far as I'm concerned. As long as it makes you happy.

It really depends on what you're looking for.
I upgraded from my 2000 Celica and I am pretty satisfied. Just watch out for the annoying rear axle clicking. That's probably the only thing that bothers me about my current Z.
It's also an Auto but me being a pretty lazy driver around the city, it's my only option to drive this car. The way the car looks is A+.
