It's all good. It's just that the topic has been discussed many times before. 9 times out of 10, a search will give you the answer for which you seek.

I feel awful even contributing to this thread since it has been covered so many times but I will chime in with my 2¢ if you wish. I have an 03 and as my sig says, had a grind right after I bought it but it was replaced under warranty. I would be a little wary of any 03 that has NOT had the tranny replaced yet. Mine went out at 30k but some have gone out as late as 60-80k.

Roll the dice, move your mice.

I apologize. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal since I didn't start a new thread...thanks!

Keep an eye on your oil. Some ppl with 06's ended up lemon lawing them because they were consuming oil like crazy.

i love my 03 as well. .minor problems that were fixed with ease. (recalls) Engine runs great, and has no problems. Tranny's running beautiful as well.

I didnt like the cup holder instead of the power outlet, so i went to the junk yard and got it from a Z that had one. Works great for me now. .
i've got the window streak still, but i'd take that over oil consumption from the newer ones any day!!

So, most of you guys agreed that 2005 model is most trouble free. I should stay away from 2003, 2004, and 2006.
How about 2007 and 2008? Is there any problems with those year models?

I cannot believe after 5 years in production Nissan still cannot fix the problems.

Really? BMW had the same issue with the subframe ripping out of the bottom of the car for around 10 years.

As usual the 1st couple of years that a car is place in production these cars have the most problem. The 03 350Z had lots of problems going by some the major one was 6spd transmission, tire feathering and miniors one like window smears when U let the window down, power window motor problems, and cheap steros. I know more 03 owners that have had no problems out their car. 04 had even less problems and by 05 Consumer report rated this vehicle better then average for a high torque Sports Car only Nissan, and Toyota can pull that off. Miatas and 2ks are not high torque SCs but the Madza has always rated pretty high and so has the Honda.

Dispite what Corvette drivers say they have never rated reliability wise higher then average for long if ever usually less then Avg, and I won't even mention Mustang.

4.5 or 05s are you your best bet, if you can't buy new, U can't beat a new car warranty.

i have an 06' with no oil consumption problems. i was one of the few lucky ones. But if you did decide to get an 06' and happen to have an OC problem, there is a TSB out where they will replace the longblock with a version 2.

^ 06' owner here, no problems whatsoever. I always check my oil after joining my350z forums hearing about the oil consumption issue. Great car, runs very very smooth, love the Rev-up engine and handling.

Other than the throwout bearing chatter, I love my 06 too.
