You can't fit 2 din inside nav box (at least not without major labor involved).. i wanted to do so , but had to replace the BOSE unit instead. And I don't regret it

Wanted a Grand Touring Roadster, bought a Touring Model (Not many used GT Roadsters were up for sale)
Wanted a Black/Burnt Orange (mmmm ventilated seats), alsmot got one but the dealer sucked and bought a silver/ black model one year newer and 3k below book price (the benefit of buying a Z roadster in New England in november)
** Still want the Orange Leather Ventilated seats if anyone is crazy enough to trade

Wanted white but stuck with black. But i agree although its a pain in the a$$ to keep clean when its polished it shines like no other.
Only thing i would have wanted is a more powerful engine, other then that the Z's been very good to me

Mine is a bit of a strange story.
Never thought about a Z at all. Opportunity came up because of a deal I cut at work with the owners for me to pick out a car. I closed a big deal. Friend wanted me to look at an Audi TT because he liked them. Told him I hate how they look, and perform. Cut off VW Bug in my eyes. Was stuck on Corvettes. That is what I had in my head. Few friends told me to look around first and not just make up my mind so quick.
This was also around the time that the Solstice GXP came out. Lot of horsepower out of a 4 banger, had a friend of mine who owns the dealership hold one for me.
Included a picture of it. Sat in it. Decided at that time to look for something else.
Wanted a vette........saw way too many of them in my city. Nothing distinguished one from another besides badging in most cases. Also cheap feeling interior.
Wanted a GXP.......sat in it and realized it was made for someone who was under 6' tall. Also, very cheap interior. Plenty of things that made no sense. Manual top. Just didn't feel right. Told him to not hold it. It is still for sale. LOL. Salesmen trying to pretend that they have sold a few and not realized that I looked at the VIN number.
Went to a Nissan dealership here on my way home one day. They had a CS 06 in the showroom, brand new, MT, Grand Touring with no nav. By the way, the price on the nav is a rip off. That is why I didn't want one.
I immediately liked the lines of the car. They had a DB Roadster Grand Touring there as well. I knew right away I wanted the Coupe. Sorry roadster guys, but a) I'm in Winnipeg b) The lines of the car are very much dictated by the roof.
Anyways, sales person (now the manager) comes and talks to me, we start it up, tells me he will take 10K off compared to an 07. "They are exactly the same. Only difference is the hood" he tells me "HP ratings are different because of how they measure them now."
I don't drop big money on something without research, so I asked him about different 07's that were available in the city, or in Canada. For the longest time I wanted a Pearl White, so I found out that there were 2 of them in Vancouver.
Ok, left and did some research. Yeah....the 06 and 07 are the same.....NOT!
80% difference in the engine claims Nissan. More horsepower and higher rev range. Definitly faster than the 03-06's. Progress of course. I call him up and educate him on the differences, and make sure he doesn't try one of those tricks again. Don't want the 06, even though that is a great deal, just wanted current cause I knew I would regret if I didn't, and I'm not a fan of CS anyways.
Deal takes longer to get delivered/paid for than I expected so it ends up being about a month later when I am serious.
I go back to check the situation on what is available. I find out that the PPW's in Vancouver have been driven by the owner and his sons for a while. WARNING! WARNING! Nope, not for me. Sorry.
There is a DB in Toronto as well that fits. I say I'll think about it. That night, driving home, I spot a DB roadster. Parked. I stop, get out, and check it out. First thing I notice is how spider webs show in the paint job. Don't know how the guy took care of it, but I wasn't hugely impressed with the color. Now I don't want that color.
Tell the dealership that the next day. Doesn't look like I'm going to have any luck.
Next day I get an email.
Found a Airstream Silver coupe in Hamilton. Only thing is that the dealership hopped it up a bit and kept it in their showroom. They weren't selling it but he talked to them about letting it go. Promised me it wasn't driven around as a daily car, and what did they do to it? What you see in my sig is what they did. Guess these guys at the dealership liked their product. I made sure that the mods were all covered by the factory warranty for the same length of time, and got it shipped out on the next truck.
Had never seen Airstream in person, but knew that silver has good resale and is one of the most popular colors, took a chance.
Glad I did. Very glad. Never stop getting comments, and it always looks clean. Kept clean, my car looks wet all the time.
I just came in from my garage where it is stored till this horrible winter is over, and I have no regrets on anything.
My regret is that I live in an area that forces me to park for the winter.

xzero: AGH!, You ended up paying to much for your car. Lots of people tell me I over payed and I got an 04 ppw touring with 6k miles on it for 28k back in july 06.
I would have loved to see what kinda rims they put on a Z that cost 12k
that hard to believe there( did the salesman tell you that?). Even a sexy set of volks backs and fronts with new tires, I priced at 3800, thats 19"s...but 20s couldnt be to much higher..like 150 more a rim.
