Default Question about the Z's gearing/tranny/etc.

I've noticed that sometimes the gear transitions on my 6MT Z are smooth as budda, but other times (majority of the time) I feel it catch before the gear fully engages.

I've tried just about everything I can think of to get it to engage smoothly each time, so I'm just wanting to confirm that it's not a lack in my driving skill. Anyone know the notch to which I am referring?

What shifts are you talking about? The only one I have any difficulty shifting into smoothly is 2nd gear. That one is very hard to explain.... but i'll give it a try here. Mainly what I'll do is as soon as i shift out of 1st I'll throw it into 2nd and drop the clutch about 1/2 way and quickly "feather" the rest of the gear. It also helps to keep your foot on the gas a split second after you push in the clutch to give the rpms a quick blip.
