Driving A Lowered Car 101
All I got to say is be careful! This is what happens when you are late to class and in a rush. Went over one of those abnormally high speed bump.
This is how low the car is.

This is the after effect on not just the lip, but the bumper itself.

Damn this new "WebWasher" program at work, can't see shiiiiit now... But it doesn't sound good...
scrapes are gonna happen, avoid potholes and speed bumps, i was basically hung up on a yellow speed bump one time at a hotel i was staying at, just be easy and angle it when need be on driveways and such.. and driving should always be sideways..
i usually try to avoid driving roads that are 'unfamiliar' to me and i try to avoid driving in the rain - you'll never know where the new potholes are.
because of a lowered car, i often feel paranoid and edgy though... :P

This are my question about lowering my car.
I have an 07 Z. I still have it stock, and no problem with speed bumps, potholes, no problems at expressway bridges joints and or pavement holes so far. I use to drive carefully because of the road hazards. But, at the end of this month I am planning to get the Nismo V2 Bumper, and I still don't know how much is the change in clearance of the Nismo V2 Bumper in comparison to the stock bumper.
I am planning to leave the stock 18" wheels for now, but I want to lower the car also with Pro kit springs, 1".
In summer I will put Volks TE37 Time Attack 245/40/19 F and 285/35/19 R.
My issue is here, by adding a Nismo V2 Bumper, and Volks, without springs, my 350 will still look like an SUV because of the Volks, or I do need to put the springs so it looks nice and normal? It will scrape my bumper/lip ( assuming a careful drive ) leaving the car stock (only Nismo V2 Bumper with 18 stock wheels) and/or putting the Volks without springs will also scrape the bumper/lip? Still the car will look good with those exterior mods w/o lowering?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
Also I will appreciate if you guys put some pictures with the mods I am planning to get, with out springs, coil overs, etc... and with.
Also how much will be the clearance with the Nismo V2 Bumper with stock suspension.
Thank you!

The basics of good design is less is more, and there must be a balance of form (aesthetics) and function (performance). I wouldn't want to add body kits that have not been windtunnel-tested or have been proven to increase performance just for the sake of 'looking cooler or faster' - but that is my opinion/taste.
In terms of aerodynamics, the stock rear bumper has zero lift, so it's great design already.
So, the questions to ask are, how will I use my Z?
Is it my daily driver or is it my toy car to track/autocross with?
Do I value aesthetic appearance over performance or do I want to strike the right balance? (there's always a compromise)

I don't know how low my car is since I just dump it based on wheel gap and fitment. An example of how low I roll is below.
My main rule of thumb is no fat chicks or my car will scrape:

my car is lowered on Stance GR+ coilovers. Its slammed pretty low,
Driveways - Go up almost SideWays one tire at a time
Speed Bumps - Same, make an angle and go really slow
Potholes - Either avoid them or go around em'

the last reply on this thread is over 3 years old. Why post?
I've never understood this... You guys get so mad when people don't search but when someone finally does search and finds a relevant thread to post in instead of starting his/her own you guys jump all over them for bumping a dead thread.
I'm sort of interested in this thread and I'm glad it was bumped.
