Default Straight trade my 04.5 ZR 5AT @23K miles for a 04 ZR 6MT @33K w/SatNav?

A dealer has what appears to be a 04 ZR with 33K miles on it, its 6 MT and has the OEM SatNav. I'm thinking about offering them a trade for my 04.5 ZR with 23K miles in 5AT. If they are willing to do it do you think I should? I wanted a MT from the beginning but havent been able to find one in my area. This one is about a 4 hour drive from me but I think its worth it...

What do you guys think? Only change for me would be going from a 04.5 with the revised suspension to a 04, from white to silver, from 5AT to 6MT, and getting the SatNav.

My only beef is its just an 04. Could I buy some 04.5 revised rear springs and shocks? About how much would this run me?

*sigh*... wish I knew about this before I got mine.... I would of drive 4 hours each way for it. lol was only a couple weeks late

If you really want the six speed, go for it and then go aftermarket with the springs. Although the white roadster must be hot.

Yeah I want a 6MT... I like the white but silver is nice too... Does seem pretty common for the Z though.

Doubt they'll do a straight trade. Would think its easier to sell a 6 speed. But if they do def. go for it!

I didn't know that... so i'd have to buy an upgrade disc for it or something? That could be a problem because I would use it. Although a majority of the clients I go to have been there 5+ years so it may not be a problem.

Somehow I doubt they will go for a trade but we'll see.

*UCK buying an upgraded disk, the navigation better be operating when you take delivery of the car or it's their nuts. Dont settle for anything less, you want a working navigation to go wtih your new working Z.

They wont trade out right, i highly doubt it. It's hard enough pushing the older models off the lot let alone trading one problem for another. Good luck with things anyways.

They definitely will not straight trade it. Unless you find the best deal ever.

I took my 2003 Touring 5AT into see about trading it in and the dealer offered me 10,400 for it. (Of course, it had holes in the hatch from spoilers being on there, so take that for what its worth) and the 04 I was looking at they wanted $21,000 for it. It had similar miles and less options. I told them they were absolutely crazy, took my keys, and left.

Good luck to you though! You may be better off just selling the 5AT roadster and using that towards the 6MT. Its a pretty good switch, doing it myself.

Yeah I contacted the dealership, they wont do it. Of course I anticipated that anyway, so no big deal.

Damn it... pisses me off, I waited almost a full year, looking for Z's all over the place and never found a roadster with the 6MT in a color I wanted, so I gave up and got this 5AT. Which isn't bad... I can live with it, but then a few weeks later a 6MT shows up (better price too). Had I just waited another 3 weeks, errrr... Stupid me.

I knew it was an 04 and not an 04.5 because they had the VIN listed, I chekced it against the popular 'how to tell the difference' thread in this forum and determined it was an 04.

Thanks for your input guys, guess i'll be keeping my current ride.
