has anyone tried to open the trunk with the hatch release under the strut bar. I have the battery disconnected (doing some installs) so i can't use the remote or the trunk release above the rear license plate. i looked in the manual to see which way to pull the cord, but nothing seems to work. it says it will release the trunk even with the car off and battery disconnected incase of emergency, but mine doesn't seem to work.

has anyone else had this problem. what would you recommend. how did you get it to work.

I haven't tried it, but I would assume it's a cable release that you have to pull hard - but I don't know so don't break anything by trying this. Maybe someone knows for sure and will let us know.
