Default Ripped OFF by Forum member

ok so I was looking for a 350 to buy I figured where better then on my350z.com. So the search began I finally found the perfect car. Sent the money and everything. He told me the only thing wrong with the car was it needed new rear gas shocks for the hatch. Well turns out today the transport company called me and told me that the clutch is completly wrote off and they could barely get it on the truck. Now before hand I asked the guy selling the car is the clutch bad because I noticed he was posting about having one replaced. It was from a member on here I am completly ****** off about this. I was quoted today 1850 installed canadian for a exedy cromoly flywheel and stage 1 clutch. Any info on a clutch would be helpful too Thanks

Unfortunately i don't think you can do anything about it. Used vehicles from private sellers are purchased as is. Unless maybe somehow you had documentation from the seller stating that the clutch was in perfect condition. In this country the only time you may get your money back from a used car sale is if you were ripped off by a used car dealer.

You can get a JWT clutch/flywheel combo installed for under $1300 US. It's best for stock motor non-fi cars anyway.

you bought sight unseen? I don't even like when the guy at Subway goes to the back while making my sub to "refill the ingredients."

they wanted 1600, I am kicking myself for not doing it now tho. and I asked the guy and he said the clutch is fine. Now he bought the car from a dealer 2 months ago so I am wondering may it possible be the slave or master cylinder. because would the dealer not put a new clutch in it if it was messed. and if so how can you ruin a clutch in 1 month

99 percent of vehicles bought from private parties are “as is.” Since you sent the seller money, that is “an offer to buy.” Unfortunately you have little recourse.

Why would you buy a car without seeing and driving it? Are you crazy?

And you knew this was the "perfect car" how? Because it was being sold by one of the 20,000 members (or whatever) on this forum? You do realize that the membership requirements here are not all that tough? Also, you sure the transport driver knows how to drive a MT? Just a thought...

no i meant the one I was looking for. Not a good working car but the fact tha the just bought it froma dealer a month ago was a pretty good reason for it to be in working condition.

Good luck with your purchase. I'm not a very trusting person. If I can't see it, drive it, I won't buy it. I'm not criticizing you, I just don't trust that many people. Good luck I hope you aren't stuck with a large bill.
