I've just become fond of taking my Z around the curves and corners. It's a blast!

yeah ive drivin both and the stang didnt compare. The stang's new interior sucks to me i hated it. Handled like a fat kid in a track meet. Got good torque etc. for straightline power and is easily modded. But when i drove the Z for the first time i never looked nor though of another mustang. Z's acceleration is almost the same as the mustang and is phenomenal in corners etc. Oh and looks yeah i wont even go there lol its a no brainer for me.

I've driven both and while the Mustang GT's torque is addicting, the suspension felt very soft, and the shifts were quite long. I would take a Z.

My Z eats Mustangs for breakfast in autocross, to include the Cobra. Mustangs just do not have the excellent handling features that the Z has. But then again, my suspension mods have been tuned for autocross & road courses.

I've had mustangs, crossfire, camaro, 300c and so far nothing compares to the quality and craftsmanship of this car. I almost bought an S2000 and glad I didn't b/c I am blown away by this car!

My roomate has a 06 GT Mustang and I have a 07 Base Z. Id laugh as he like to brag about the mods he was doing. Springs, exhaust, headers etc.. 200.00 for this 300.00 for that. Hell- my coilovers cost more than all his mods all together.

I can appreciate the mustang as the american muscle car icon it is, but the z is much more "polished and refined" vehicle.

Again sports car vs. muscle car what are you goin for?

I believe this is a first... Another negative to the Mustang being the availability of low-cost parts...

I was racing a 07 mustang with long tube headers & exhaust and new rear end, I have stock Z with nismo exhaust and K&N fliter. I was dead even with him.

It was a fun run. Either is a good choice but with either FI is the way to go.

The only thing where the Mustang is superior over the Z is the manual transmission. The Mustangs use the Tremec manuals, which are one of the best. Nissan used them in the 80s era Z31`s. Then screwed up BIG time when they chose not to use them in the Z32`s and the Z33`s (and went with a cheap generic instead). I`m on my fourth one. Two brand new ones were bad out of the box upon install. I read that they`re using Getrag 6 speeds in the GTR. Good move on Nissan`s part.

I drove both when I was in the market late last year. Mustang (of which I have been a fan of for a long time) has gotten HUGE. Interior looked cheap - I know they went 'retro with the last redesign - but some things (like the IP) shouldn't go there...

Anyway - I found an excellent deal on a '06 ZR and haven't looked back once.

I looked at both when I went shopping for the car just form me. The torque and sound is fantastic and no one can fault you if you get a Mustang CT. On the other hand whe I threw the Mustang in a hard corner it got soft in a hurry. Got straight out and went and drove the S2000. Soft in corner problem solved but where did all the torque go. Drove the ZR next and everything was better. I told my girl on the way home, "all I have to do is pick a color" The Z illicits love from the owner just sitting at the light and every inch of the pedal or turn of the steering wheel. Now I have two.

I have an 06 touring coupe and an 01 Bullitt which is my second stang. The Bullitt has better brakes and suspension than the GT so it's fun on curves. Mods are much less expesive on the stang. My Bullitt sounds sweet. These are different animals though. Both my stangs have been very reliable and trouble free and easy for me to do my own work/modding on. I think you'll be happy either way.

I raced a supercharged (vortech) 06 mustang GT. At the time I had a stock block turbonetics single turbo setup. We hung pretty well even despite the fact that he was putting down 30+whp more than me.

Mustang to me is to long, and handling isn't as superb as the Z's. And sure it may be just as or close to being fast like the Z, but come on. The real fun is in the handling.

I use to have an 02 Mustang GT up until last November when i bought my Z. The mustang was a ton of fun to drive, it was powerful and torquey and could take one heck of a beating without giving me any problems what so ever. I had about $3k into the stang in performance enhancing mods only, nothing for looks, and that made it even more fun to drive. The only problem with the mustang was the handling. Even with doing an adjustable setup, the car would not turn for the life of it. It sounded great, looked pretty good, and was great in a straight line but could not turn.

I got into a Z in November and will never go back. The Z is just as fast, sounds just as good(in its own way) but it CAN turn. The thing handles like it's on rails, it's great. Now i've done a few performance mods to the Z, which may be a bit more $$$ but it's worth it. I don't run next to modded stangs anymore, i eat 'em up. The Z, imo, is the way to go unless you're dead set on the V8 sound and going straight.

Ford vs. NISSAN??? Come on! Nissan, hands down!!! Why? Reliability, quality,
MPG, LOOKS!, not a big difference in prices of parts, handling, etc.

My 2 cents....I test drove a Mustang prior to driving the Z...It's definately a different car than the Z. I didn't like the Mustang because it's a bigger car outside and in...It doesn't "fit" like the Z (cockpit experience). I also looked at the Dodge Datona edition Charger and it too is a bigger car. I like the Z because it fits around the driver (cockpit) and its more responsive (suspension and turns) compared to the Charger or Mustang. However, both the Mustang and Charger have straight line "drag" power, which the Z also has but it's a different feeling (torque)...My opinion is based upon a couple of days testing all three vehicles, which my choice was obvious - the Z.
