Just do it!!! I promise you'll be happy or your dealer will give you your money back and let you keep the Z.

As long as you get the 07+ HR motor.....you'll be very happy.

I'm glad you're getting rid of your American Made garbage.

^^a bit of a hijack but for the HR Zs, are their advantages in the upper range? Because i heard that they have low torque down low? also read of stories that on the drags, the DE Zs will be ahead of the HRS at first and towards the end it will start to pull. Truth?

thats due to the torque ( for take off) of the DE's being i believe more than the newer motors.

why ask what you should get on a Z forum? you know what we're all gunna say. unless your going to buy a...new cobra, saleen, rousch than i'd buy the Z.

than again if you had money to buy a new saleen or rousch i would hope you buy something else.

welcome to the fam by the way. (guessing your gunna buy a Z)

ive had both. Bought a 06 GT after katrina, long story short, it was a katrina victim. It has a back seat. and tourqe plus on the interior. The Z (07) is faster and handles way better. BETTER GAS milage. The GT handles mods better. Less problems with GT and better, imo, company support.

Bets advice. Compare, do you want to drive a car that you have to see an emblem to "respect" or do you want a car that everyone knows it can perform? In reference to the v6 stang. On the road the mustang has a lesser make, the Z however, is always a Z.

mike
Ill keep my Z. Better gas, better looks, less of them, and better performance.

PS, i can kill a GT (stock or lightly modded) in the 1/4 by about half a car. I can kill a 03-05 z by 2 cars or more. 06 about a car.

I just got rid of a GT Mustang for a Z, no regrets what so ever. The Z seems like more of a quality car, not to mention all the dumb things the Mustang started doing at 69k miles. I actually bought the Z over an '03 Cobra(which was a blast to drive) with the same miles and price as the Z I ended up with. Also Mustangs are a dime a dozen, and that will bother you more and more the longer you own it.

The Z is hella fun to drive. I have an 04 which is around 3100lbs. The new ones get heavier.
