I don't think it's "Z haters" in particular. The 350Z is a little car. It's not imposing. People, in general, are dumb and their first thought is, "he/she is smaller than me, they'll slow down/move/get out of my way".

I got my 350 last July. Before that I drove a Corvette and I got the same "attitude" from other drivers in it too. It's a small car. Most sports cars are and here in Texas where Suburbans, Expeditions and F350's are the most common vehicles on the road... well, you can guess.

Small Car = Drive Defensively. As I was saying earlier, MOST accidents, regardless of who's "fault" they are present an opportunity to be avoided by EITHER driver. So, even if it's not going to be "your fault", be on the look out for a chance to AVOID that accident.

Also for those that are having fueling issues.. I recently replaced the shutter valve in my gas tank underneath the fuel pump. It's a easy repair that can be done by anyone with experience.. now I can pump more than 1 gallon lol.. also anyone know if our fuel pumps are inaccurate or faulty? I had a check engine light for high voltage sending to my fuel pump. I unhooked the battery and it was gone so I'm kinda confused but whatever it works fine..

responses like this are not doing anything for you, just making you look like a bigger douche. i know for a fact that in NC there are road signs (just like here ) that state left lane is for passing only. if you was cruising in that lane you are just as wrong. sucks you had to learn your lesson with a scratched car but i guess you deserve it: especially seeing your attitudea about it with your posts.

Your story was really hard to follow....how did both your drivers side and front bumper get damaged?

lol sorrie if I'm not detailed enough I am bad at writing stuff like this lol.. he just came into my slow lane when I was approaching the exit. broke my driver side parts. not sure.. seems like I must've hit something while getting off the side of the road. This guy was trying to run away and he saw I was on the phone calling the police. so he decided to pull off

If you're checking your mirrors periodically as you drive (as you should be), when you see another vehicle approaching from behind you SHOULD be courteous, signal and move to the right. Whatever happened to common courtesy? Common sense? Hell, just basic driving skills/rules-of-the-road?

No, I'll grant you guys that another vehicle shouldn't be "tailgating" you, that's obviously unsafe as well. But if you'd moved over in the first place, they wouldn't be there. They'd have passed you and you're both on your merry way.

Please recognize, I understand I might as well be talking to a wall with this stuff and most of you younger guys, but at least when/if this happens to you and turns out badly, admit it or not, you'll have to think... damn, that Clark dude was right I should'a just freakin' moved over.
Well said. Nobody enjoys being held up or slowed down. Even though many people resort to tailgating to express their desire to drive faster than you, I believe that many tailgating situations can be avoided if drivers in general paid more attention to their surroundings.

Like clark pointed out, most people lose a large chunk of their courtesy the moment they get behind the wheel. Its easy enough to realize that the guy in front of you is driving too slow, but it somehow becomes difficult to relate to the person behind you who might be thinking the same thing about you. It seems that many people develop an arbitrary standard around their own driving preferences, where anyone going slower than what they are comfortable with is slowing down traffic; but anyone going faster than they're willing to needs to relax.

Personally, if I was in the left lane trying to pass car A going slow and I notice car B going faster than I am coming up in my rearview mirror, letting car B pass me becomes top priority. Even if I have to slow down and get behind car A, the little effort that I put in would spare car B and myself a lot of potential hassle. Because now instead of car B tailing me cussing me out for slowing him down, hes already long gone and I can proceed to pass car A like I wanted to in the first place.

Besides nowadays you never know what kind of people are out there. Seems like something as simple as driving too slow in the wrong lane could tick some people off enough for them to bust out a gun and start shooting. Whatever lesson you might think you're teaching the guy by brake checking or blocking is not worth getting shot at.

i let them pass. I am sure you the OP have had people slow you down in the fast lane and you wish they would just move. So thats what i do, just move, the person is obviously in more of a hurry, which you obviously found out the hard way

You were participating in a little "aggressive" driving.

"I've got a 350Z and I'll be damned if this Ford TRUCK is going to pass me! Muah hah hah hah".

It turned out badly. Look at it this way, no one got hurt and if you learned anything from it, when the situation happens again you'll move over and let 'em go by. In other words, don't let it happen again you might not be so lucky the next time.
what he said PRIDE=FAIL, sorry to hear about the Z though!

Another story..(I used to have a Acura Integra until a Ford delivery driver hit my car!! and got totaled.. since he was intoxicated and he ran a red light) what is with the freaking ford cars damnit to all I hate Ford..
He just happens to tail gate me and the speed limit was 65 but of course we're gonna speed a little. (I was going 80-90 miles)
There he goes trying to pass me when there's another car in the slow lane so I sped up and didn't let him pass so he continues to tail gate. I couldn't stand it.. so I stepped on the gas leaving his *** behind at a point where he couldn't catch up by then I was getting close to my exit and there he goes catching up while turning into my lane and damages my driver side. I clearly explained to the officer I was already in the slow lane and there was no way I could've avoided that other then to go off road and I am not gonna do that at that speed! no way I'll die! here's some pics that I have taken to show you guys that people cannot drive! I'm glad there wasn't any severe damages to my car or to myself. This nut happens to be a chapel hill fan or something but yea that's why they lost in the NCAA against Kansas lol
WAT ?!?!???

I think, you think too much... you could have easily put an end to this by simply slowing down a bit and letting him pass you from the right (as that was his intention any away)... have fun with the repairs, just remember it could have been much worse

i'm with frankyB and all the others here who said the same.
now you won't have the Z for a few days and you get to have fun with the insurance company. all could have been avoided by letting him pass and he'd be out of your life. just gotta suck up the ego sometimes.

btw...did the police report state that he was at fault?

thanks to everybody for giving me a lecture about this. this has been a fun moment of expression on the forums. yes the police reported the accident as his fault so the other guy is screwed. yay for new paint job and whatever the damage is required to be fixed.
