I drove a Camaro through the winters here in PA for 6 years. This was with all season tires and no LSD or TCS. You'll be fine, just put on some proper rubber.

I drive the Z just fine with winter tires.

+1. People act as though RWD cars cant be driven in the white stuff.

I drove my 2003 Enthusiast all winter with no problems. I have a set of Dunlop M3 winter sport tires on it. There were probably four or five days all winter when I did not drive the Z, only because it is lowered and too low for deep snow. On the deep snow days I drove my truck, which has less traction than the Z, but it would clear the snow drifts.

In Edmonton here, the snow ruts were at least 8 inches high and they were packed with ice/sand/salt. Imagine that crap hitting your bumper at -20 celsius.
Fixed.

Just finished a very snowy winter with my base 2007 Z. Received over 80" of snow and I had no issues. I have an old set of Motegi wheels with Michelin X-Ice tires. It performed very well. It was waaay better than my wife's Mazda 6 with A/S tires.

Experience has nothing to do with it. I just moved up here to AR and drive just fine in the snow. You just gotta be more careful and expect the worse moreso than in usual driving conditions. And like someone said earlier, if they plow or salt the roads regularly, you'll be good. If not, then consider getting a second car (either AWD or FWD) for winter driving.

+1 for Dunlop M3 tires

with winter tires on, driving in the snow was fairly uneventful as long as you drive carefully. once in a while it wanted to slide, but the VDC kicked right in. but the base doesn't have VDC right?

I tried driving to work one day after it snowed and I still had my T1R's on, BAD IDEA. I barely made it a block before I turned around and stole my mom's Caravan for the day. It was much better once I got some A/S Kuhmo's, but you still really need to be extra careful with your right foot.

I forgot to ask a question. Why are we talking about snow in April?
