Was The Owner BSing Me?
friday night at the Nissan dealer i was talking to the owner of the dealership, and i asked him about long term reliability on the 350Z. basically once it hits 70,000-80,000 miles are they expensive to maintain? do the engines/transmissions typically need work, or fizzle out on this high performance car once it gets some mileage on it.
the owner said his Service Manager was the lead mechanic on Nissans for about a 10-12 year period, and he could count on one hand the number of times he had to go into an engine or transmission to repair something. he also said these Z cars have been around for decades, and they are very well made.
you Z owners agree? or was the owner BSing me, trying to sell me a car?

Well they're good cars but if the mechanic has only been into an engine or tranny less than a handful of times either he's lying or he blows. I don't know why he would tell you that. All cars have issues, search around and you'll find more info here than any dealer will or could ever tell you.
