Leaving the Z family
I guess its all relative but my beater car is a 1990 eagle talon awd turbo with 225,000 miles on it and it and will run 12's all day long. I also don't even trust the car to go out of town do to reliability. By contrast, I consider the Z to be incredibly reliable and well made. Issues like a little water in the headlight and the tire feathering issue is nothing really. Look back at those early 90 / late 80's dodge caravans with the terrible engine smoke issues. Now that is a problem car. So far, the Z has done everything I've asked of it and never misbehaved. EVERY (read: fancy pants euro brand) car has teething issues. The Z had some and all BMW had some. If you have some button stop functioning on the BMW, are you going to consider it unreliable too? I've owned a 325i (e36) and things just broke for no reason. At least if they break in the Z, I can usally trace it back to something I did wrong. My point is it seems a little petty to go to drastic measures like actually trading in a car with minor issues for hope that your new car does not have the same issues.
wow thanks for all the advice though guys, im really going to miss my car though, its just after driving a bmer its so different. no only because its german because the car feels much more mechanical when your driving it. japanese cars are so focused on luxury and comfort that you lose some parts of the feel of driving, but ya hopefully i can get another z later on.

i don't know if you guys even know this but i think 03-04 Z issues have been in a few lawsuits. i have been asked to join in the lawsuit through mail about the 03-04 Z's having a defected front alignment that cause uneven feathering. Nissan does not even replace this part but they only provide a discount which was like $100 if you bought tires at regular price and they could only be on stock wheels with the potenzas. they even provide unlimited alignment to us, i just don't want to deal with any of that. by the way my buddys bmw 5 series actually had some bad problems too, the car would just die in the middle of driving, good thing nothing happened though
