So I guess I'll still stick around. You guys are simply the coolest freaken tuner community in the world!

As hard as it is I have come to the conclusion that I am parting-out my Z and getting a car that's more practical as a daily driver and for a family of 2 (my fiance and I....oh and our puppy lol) I have had a few things that made this hard. The Z is a fun and purely sexy car but I can't handle the:

1. It's a 5AT. As much as I love the Z, buying a AT really killed me. I shouldn't have and I really can come up with excuses but in the end I messed up.
2. RWD in a city where it rains 2/3 of the year (and having it being our only car)
3. I am a truly addicted modder. I would buy parts non-stop and going to grad school I just need time away from modding and spending a lot of money on a car.
4. Impractical for a grad student (or any college student) due to having only 2 seats and very limited trunk space.

Plus my fiance is getting her first car this summer and she have had her heart set on an 06 white G35 coupe for a couple years so we will be getting one. It's just not practical to have two RWD coupe with no space in the house. I would love to have her take the Z but she justs wants a G35.

It's hard but I believe this will be the right decision and I'll still be around so it's win-win So with that being said I'm moving onto something that's already nicely equipped from the factory, AWD, Turbo, and got space up the wazoo - Evolution IX MR

And my plan with it is: *drums roll* Project: Keep it stock! lol (well lightly modded) at least so I can keep the warranty through my schooling years.

 

Well, you may own a Z again one day.

Post up some pics of the G and Evo when you get them!

You can always mod her G when you get the urge to put some on your car! LOL

 

swap everything you can over to her G (?) that way you can keep some of the memories real?

haha well the BEST part about the G35 is that *she* is paying her her own mods She wants the following:

-Spacers (for the 19" rays coupe wheels)
-BBK - probably OE Brembos or stoptechs
-Eibach pro-kit
-ARC Ti Shiftknob

I'm cool with that It would help my modding craze! As for the IX MR I'm planning on keeping her stock for the most part. Probably get one in the graphite color or black.

Keep in mind this is over the next 2 years that i want this done so its very light

-Slotted rotors
-HKS CF Induction Box

I'll put my 350z plate frame and badge on her g35 coupe...keepin' it real ya know haha

Sad to see the Z go, your DB is definitely one of my idols, and I'd love for my car to be at the caliber of yours someday. However, congrats on moving to a new stage of life...and I'm sure the EVO will treat you right.

Now to be a jackass: Any chance you'd part out your skirts to a Z brother across the border? I'd love to grab them off of ya, since I just got scammed trying to buy an identical set from someone else and am still looking. *Edit* would maybe want your wing too

 

Sorry to hear that you're getting rid of the Z. I definitely envy your car. When I first joined this message board your car was one of the first I saw and almost made me regret buying my 03 Chrome Silver Z. I'm sure you'll enjoy the EVO just as much though, don't forget to post pics whenever you get it!

After watching a bit of MXC i completely forgot what the forum was about.... Oh yeah.... sell the Z, get her to buy the G with MT and put parts on it. EVO Sounds great too. Not that bad of a trade off id say.
