So What do you think this Z is worth?
So, as much as I hate the idea of parting with my Z...My fiancee has just graduated...and we are considering getting a new C6 Z06...which means the Z would have to go. What do you think I could get out this?
2003 DB Touring
- Got the new tranny (009) so no more shifting problems
- 44,000 miles
- All original parts included
- Maintenance records
- receipts for well over $10k mods, including:
- Nismo Front Bumper w/ CF canards
- INGS N-spec side skirts and rear bumper
- Nismo style CF rear spoiler
- Seibon TS CF hood (painted)
- Eyelids for headlights
- Blacked out headlights
- Smoked reflectors on headlights
- Paint for all these
- 30% windshield tint
- 15% side/rear window tint
- Volk GTS 19x10.5 +18/ 19x9.5 +17
- Toyo T1r 285/30 and 255/35
- Swift Lowering Springs
- tanabe (or hotchkis, can't remember) adjustable sway bar front and rear
- front SPL end links
- 2xJL 8w7 with JL 500/1 amp
- JL 450/4 amp
- Custom box fits in between seats and strut bar, leaving under strut bar open
- Blue Bats overlays (backup lights, brake lights, and rear strut bar)
- Nearly brand new Michelin all seasons on stock rims
- probably some more misc things i'm forgetting
Just wondered if anyone had ideas what this might bring?
Thanks!
Austin

The list of mods is meaningless. Very few people want to buy a modded car. It could take you many months to sell it in the modded state. Your best bet is to return it to stock, sell it for the "normal" price ($17K) and sell the mods separately.

kinda thought the same thing...only thing that I was hoping would make this 'not true' is that I haven't done any performance mods...yet. In fact, that's what got me lookin at the Z06...reading on all the issues with the Z and doing mods...engine wise. Even built motors having issues etc.

but my visual tastes are superior to anyones taste on this site...so of course that won't be the case
I can understand not wanting to rip it apart - that's what makes body mods the worse. It's also something a potential buyer won't want to do either. At least most performance mods can be undone by swapping with the OEM parts.
it sucks that the Z has depreciated so much...i was considering selling mine as well but i figure its more worth it to just keep it. maybe u can consider just keeping it since u will probably get below KBB value for ur car
I was planning on selling my z and then looked at how much it's worth and it's not worth the hit.
Your car book value by me in good condition is like 18k mint condition stock. The only way mods will improve your value is if they are parts put on by professionals and you have receits to back them. You also have to consider that the added parts are worth half the value once you open them out of the box. Since they are installed they are worth about 25%. If you have 100% stock parts (hood, wheels, bumpers, side skirts, lights... whole shabang) then I'd say you might get lucky with 24k. Tires aren't gonna raise your price... so just cuz you smacked some fancey grippy tires on them doesn't mean jack to a buyer.
IMO I'd pay 20-22k for the car, with the mods, depending on the area you live. You'd be better turning the car to 100% stock, trading the car in, and selling the parts off. You should just keep the car... if you have the money to drop on a ZO6... save it and buy the new gtr
