Performance?

You're talking a proper manual box (although a shitty box compared to other cars I've driven) versus something you'd find in a minivan.

But to the OP, yeah dude, get the tiptronic. You don't want to deal with fighting the forward pulling force after rev matching 3rd, just so that you can position yourself for that rev match down to 2nd. Too much work, let the auto do it for you.

As for up shifting, i highly doubt any auto Z can shift faster than my super lightning fast shifting technique. (Still under development)

The automatic transmission in the Z is not to be compared to an "automatic" transmission out of a E90 M3 or Audi R8. Uneducated? Ok.

neither should it be compared to a minivan.

unfortunately yes. everytime someone posts about an automatic, all of the MT morons come out of the woodwork and start with the "MT is better" or the "sports cars should not be auto" comments. hence the use of the term "uneducated"

definition of a sports car

A sports car is a term used to describe a class of automobile. The exact definition varies, [1] but generally it is used to refer to a low to ground, light weight vehicle with a powerful engine. Most vehicles referred to as sports cars are rear-wheel drive, have two seats, two doors, and are designed for more precise handling, acceleration, and aesthetics. A sports car's dominant considerations can be superior road handling, braking, maneuverability, low weight, and high power, rather than passenger space, comfort, and fuel economy.
funny, i do not see anything about it requiring a manual transmission

It's almost like your powershifting with the tiptronic.

Not exactly... Its a dual clutch tranny that can be put into auto mode to provide the practicality of a true auto.

come on people he's just asking a question, yes i know, he could've searched and then bring to life a really fu#%ing old thread. Cut him slack, besides not everybody that gets a sports car with auto tranny is gay, some of them have back problems. Theres no stupid shifting around on a car that most of the people here in the forum have trouble mastering. If you want manual get it manual if you want it auto get it auto just remember none of us is buying it for you so most of the time our opinion does not even count.

just my 2 cents
