^ No, you put it on someone's car once they've got a ticket so you can't drive off. Of course, if you're homer simpson you can

No the 'parking authority' in the city puts them on your car if you have excess parking ticketes you havent paid.

You can just carry a nice saw with you and cut it off... lol, but then when they find you again you have to not only pay for the tickets, but the wheel clamp as well.

EDIT: Damn you SiNzz lol

Lol, great episode. That would really suck. Maybe it is one of those fake ones he put on himself so he can illegally park.

That would suck. I'd just buy one if I knew I was wanted by the law and put it on the car every time I parked it. That way the police would leave it alone because it was already clamped, .

Doesn't really work that way. They the parking authority have computers in there tow trucks now. They run plates and if there is excessive unpaid tickets they boot it. They know what cars they have booted. The boots are numbered and recorded when they place the notice. So, if a boot was already on there they still run the plates as they go down the line. I think they even have optical scanners that scan the plates now and input the number for them so they can go faster. The more they catch the more money they make. In some cases of extreme violation they boot and tow the vehicle.

At least that is what I remember from a show that I saw on it about a year or so ago. When they find you they hold onto you like a pit bull. The dispatcher love to give you hassles too. In most cases they won't even let you get your belonging out of the car.

I hope I never get a boot installed on my car. But, then again I've only had like two parking ticket in my life.

^^^ I was thinking the same thing. There's no way the wheel won't get scratched when they install the boot.
