Default Door Ding

On my way into the office, I look back and saw the light hit what appeared to be a door ding. Walked up closer to investigate, and found out that I have received my first ding.

Any idea what paintless ding remover would cost, and or if any one knows a reputable place in northeast Tennessee?

Sorry to hear about your first "beauty mark" Paintless dent removal costs anywhere from $60-$80, depending (at least around here anyway). Not sure about TN though. Good luck!

I've heard good things about paintless dent removal. I hear ya on the dings man. I have only had my car for about 2 months and I've already gotten TWO dings on my doors!! (one on either side)

I guess I'll wait until I get a few and get them all knocked out at once, since being 'dinged' seems to be inevitable no matter how careful you are

I had two small ones removed last week on mine...cost was $80 bucks and the guy did a awesome job. It was worth it to me...hell I would have paid more just to get rid of them. Took the guy about 40 minutes if that and you couldnt even tell it was there.

yeah a my dealership quoted me $170. Haven't done anything about it yet but even at that price is not as bad as 400 to repair the "old fashion" way.

It's not the dings that bother me. I can get those repaired for free.

It's possible paint transfers that go along with the dings.

*shudder*

agreed. The dealership doesn't do it, they just send it to a dentwizard or dentking or what have you. So ultimatly your paying double for them to act as a middle man.

i'd actually find who the dealer goes to for their new cars, that way you know they're reputable/good workmanship and get a quote for them. mine ran $75 and were done in 45 minutes. only way you can tell is a minuscule crack from the ding but she pointed it out before they did the work to protect them.

I wouldn't use the ding king if you want to keep your clearcoat.

I have one that I use on my Jeep DD but i would never allow that thing to touch my Z.

I"ve used dentwizard, they are the guys that the dealership calls to get the dents out of your car anyways.

I actually met my guy at the dealership while he was on a job. fixed a dent I had in the rear wheel well, it was in a horrible spot, right on the round part where it meets the edge, the guy did an amazing job.

If you have a dent wizard around you I would highly recommend them.

Like I said, I have use the product on my Z, which has clearcoat, several times. No problems, works great, cleans right up, totally removes dings, looks like new. Your Jeep paint job, however, is probably cheap piece of crap.

Just find one of the dent repair guys out in the real world. I saw one guy, works for one of the companys, had his van and uniform on and asked him what they charge to remove door dings. He asked me to show it to him ( i had two small door dings from same lady) he said $10 bux. Took him all of 5 mins and dings are completely gone. Would never know they were there. Gave him a tip and he was on his way.

Default Paintless Dent Repair is the Way to Go!!

Had an a-s-s ding my door in a public parking garage next to the Marriott Norfolk. He crumped the back driver side wheel well pretty good, but did not break the paint. Went to the dealer and asked what it would cost - $175.00 is what the quoted me. A local body shop wanted $675.00 WTF?? Anyway, a friend of mine gave me the name of a fellow that does paintless dent repair. Called him up, he came to my house, set up in my garage with his own special lighting, drilled two half inch diameter holes - one in the door jamb the other in the tail light well. He obvioulsy romoved the interior trim and tail light housing to drill. Within a half hour, he massaged out the dent and to date, you can't even see where it was. All for the low price of $75.00. I actually tipped him another $10.00 for lunch. Thank gawd for these guys!
