I am super satisfied with my Z (2006 Silverstone Z Base Model) i havent modded it besides getting my new clutch and flywheel recently.... havent had any problems with it and my clutch lasted pretty long considering how i drive it (51,5xx miles) so yeah no regrets here, i love it everyday i drive it and that love seems to continue growing...
oh previous cars
1. 1974 Porsche 911
2. 2001 Ford F-150 5.4litre supercharged
3. my current Z

Good Luck with your purchase!

oh BTW here is a good read if you want more information... https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/362149-4-years-83-500-miles-3-tickets-later-long-read.html

LOOOOOOOOOOVE my Z.

i always liked Zs but never thought i would buy one. one test drive and i fell in love. it isn't about 0-60 times, 1/4 mile or skidpad numbers, i am not always a "stats guy", it just the total experience of driving the Z. the sounds, the feel of the road, the shifter, the ride......its a blast.

of course there are always clowns who think a sports car should run 9 second 1/4 mile times, but they are usually young ricer kids.

anyways, if you're considering one, look at the newer Z with the HR engine. i am not saying the DE is bad by any means, but the HRs are a tad faster.

oh and don't forget to turn off TCS and screw automatics.

jim

edit - my previous cars were 91 Dodge Caravan ES, 1987 Ford Tempo, 1996 Dodge Neon, 2002 Nissan Maxima and then the Z. i also have a beater Neon now and the wife has a 2004 Explorer.

and i haven't had any issues with the Z yet, other than it's hard to get good mpgs since i love pushing the fun pedal!

Haven't had any problems thus far (staying NA with most bolt ons).

Great looking car which looks beautiful from any angle.

Sufficient power for me.

I really like the 350 Z. I have a 2003 Performance model.

One great feature of this car is the plethora of customization options. The 350Z has several cubby’s where you can install various A/V stuff, including LCD screens, swap-outs of double-din devices, and even large components such as a CarPC. Past this, you have many choices for engine mods, body panels, and aftermarket wheel/tire setups.

With this said, my next car will probably be a G/37. The G has everything I like about the Z, but provides some additional advantages.

If customizing and making your car unique is your preference, the 350Z is the best choice.

Yes. Still get a charge every time I get into it. Definitely a head turner. Styling is classic. Previous car: Honda Civic. I really have come up in the world. And so it goes...............

Agree on this one... there is no way you can make a G look that cool.

Very nice look.

I love my car, but it gives me alot of emotional trouble sometimes. If i ever get a bad scratch on it or damage it...boy i wont stop thinking about it until it goes back to 100%. Its also a big money pit... and i wish it was a little faster..

buuuuuuuut it still always makes me smile when i hear the engine and exhaust scream when the revs are soaring. It sure is super sexy looking too.

^^ One nice feature of the Z is that you can make it a little (or a lot) faster.

Agreed. If you were living in CA and going to this year's Hungtington Beach meet Z.G meet it makes perfect sense. All the crazy modded ones are the Zs and they get all the attention while Gs sit on the other side of the lot lol
You can't do much more than just front lip, wheels, and drop on the G. All the bodykits on G are ugly as hell. (Except for Marty's G)

I'm very satisfied with my Z. In fact I replaced my '03 Redline Touring 6 speed pre-order with a '07 Redline Touring 6 speed after my '03 got totalled last May.

I thought I'd miss the '03, but the '07 is so much better (all the '03 gremlins are gone and it's a faster better car) I don't. Btw, my car before the '03 was a red '91 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL.

I like my z a lot. Like others have said I wish it was a little faster, but that's probably the case with any car once you get used to it. As a suburban male in my mid 20's I can't think of a much better car to own.

EDIT - Previous cars were 1993 Ford Taurus GL and 2003 Mazda6 (6 cyl. 5 spd). I still do miss the mazda6, I must say. Solid car.

Previously owned. Couple of minivans and a celebrity (family cars). A 73 VW bug with a lot of work done on it and an 82 280ZX (sold after I got the 350 and the 280 got trashed by vandals). Got a 63 VW bug project that's in storage till I buy a house.

I drive her back and forth to work and run errands. Had her 15 months and only 6600 miles on her

I'm retired military. 43 years old. Probably not your typical Z owner. Bought it because.

1. I liked the looks and it turns heads
2. The bang for the buck is great
3. Didn't like the other cars in the same price range I drove
4. I liked the way it handles
5. I wanted something that could get up and go if i want it to

Things I had to get used to

Blindspot(s) they are huge compared to my 280ZX. you get used to keeping track of traffic around you and turning your head.

What I don't like

Road noise from the back. It rains I keep expecting to find water somewhere because it sounds like I have an opening straight through to the outside somewhere

The stereo. The base stereo pretty much blows. Once I get the wife to quit screaming every time I mention modding it is going to be the first thing to go.

The door handles I really wish they had made them flush and a whole lot smaller

The lack of space comes with the car but it sucks when i have to drive the minivan because something won't fit in my baby.
