Damn dude i hope you had a good reason for trading like comfort or kids. Cuz for reals, I raced my homie, on a track ( ) and as soon as i shifted into second he was in my rear view. He didnt believe me that my car was faster but now he knows...

Both cars are fairly equal but the edge will go to the Z due to it being slightly lighter than the G35. I also raced a buddy of mine (he has an auto G35 coupe) and I got the same result, as soon as I hit second I pulled away a little. IMO it would be drivers race most of the time.

Autos are significantly slower.

Me and my bud both own 06 G+Z 6MTs, both of us track and drag daily.

From a dig the Z jumps ahead just a bit (negligible down to launch) but we are next to each other straight down the track. (Hell we posted the exact same times, sometimes me a little faster, sometimes him.) Not even a second of difference.

Like you said, its an drivers race.

lol or there is a weight difference. Or there fcould be a VQDE or VQHR difference (unless its the sedan of course). Sorry but stock for stock the Z is faster than the G. Plus its shorter so its a little more tossable in the corners. The G would be a great daily driver though, probably much more comfortable than the Z but thats what it was designed for. Sport luxuary vs sports car.

Of course. The HR is significantly faster, I don't think anyone will argue that.

(Talking about VQDE Rev-Up here Coupe v Coupe) Stock for stock both cars are near identical, with Z coming out a bit faster around the track. Yes there is a weight difference, but can you honestly say you have taken both cars to the track and run them to their limit with it completely stock? This including tires. (If you have, I don't think you would be arguing this with me) You'll be amazed with how much the G can easily keep up with the Z and vice versa. I am not ragging on the Z, of course stock for stock it's an bit faster due to its lighter weight and more aggressivly tuned suspension. I won't argue with you on that. Yes stock for stock it is faster. But when its number crunching time, the numbers tell the same story with better numbers from the better driver.

Just a video to support my case: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2g...0gt-vs-fa_auto

I have alot of respect for people who aren't scared to put aftermarket parts on their G. I think the g35 coupe is such a pretty car and has a decent amount of a power when you compare it to cars in that price range. Also what other car in that price range has the reliability of a Nissan?

I love the G car. I currently own a 2005 touring model Z. In two more years I plan on trading it in for a G car.

i think the g's look really sexy, and i thought about getting one before i got my Z. after the test drive, i just fell in love with the Z.... how the seats hug you, the way it corners, the HR power, the total package is awesome! i think alot of people forget that you pick a car by how it makes you feel, not because one is better than the other.

if a G puts a smile on your face everytime you get behind the wheel, then get a G. if not, maybe a Z will. driving is an experience, thats why they dont have cupholders in cars in europe.

I went from a G to a Z, and had both for a while, so I got to drive them back to back frequently definitely is a difference in the ride. But I love them both so I would not mind going back to a G, but I would definitely miss my Z, especially since its the first car I modded.

a friend of mine wishes the same thing. I got my 07 Z and he got his 07 g35 coupe with the suspension 6mt at the same time last year. Anyway. He recently broke the seat on his coupe G and the dealer gave him an 07 sedan while its being repaired. He is definitly inpressed with the power increase.

Never understood why they didn't put the HR in the coupe when they did the sedan. hmmm

+10

I would have easily bought a brand new G coupe with the HR engine. I wouldn't have minded paying the premium.

Oh well...that's life I guess.

Wait a minute...'07 g35c's don't have the HR?!

Wow. That's news to me. I test drove the '07g right before I bought my car. Like a few hours just before...it felt slow and sluggish, so went to Nissan! I KNEW it felt much slower!
