the practicality of a Z?
in a few reviews of the Z, i have read that its not only powerful, stylish, blah blah blah, but also practical... what the heck?!
the only thing that has not completely sold me on this car (aside from still not having test driven one) is that it seems a bit too impractical (this is coming from a single guy w/ no kids)
how is this car practical at all?
a 2 seater w/ limited trunk space due to a massive rear strut & no back seat or storage behind the driver & front passenger seat (aside from the glove compartment)
i dont see this as being very practical at all... ?

If you're single with no kids, why do you need a big car? This is my only car, and it works out fine. It's big enough for 2 people and two sets of golf clubs.
Get a car like this while you still can! You won't be sorry.

i dont golf (im a computer geek)
as long as it can hold a cpu, monitor, laptop, and bag of various cables and things, i will be content
im glad nobody here is trying to bs on the practicality dept.
oh, you can take the spare out, and uhhh.... maybe store stuff inside of the wheels, possibly fit a few magazines under the seats... umm... a newborn can just almost fit in the glove compartment if you try hard enough...
(im also thinking of getting a murano)(not very seriously, cause uhh... im not an SUV kinda guy, but its like what would happen if a Z ran into an explorer hard enough, and i think thats pretty cool)

You'd better plan to put the monitor in the passenger seat unless it's a 12'. There is a storage compartment behind the driver in all but the Touring which has a Bose speaker there.
What do you care about practical? Why not enjoy yourself?. These might be the last several years of bachelorhood. Practical comes with a wife and kids and doesn't go away until they move out.
I leave the office after breaking software all day and driving my Z home is better than going to the bar and safer.
Get one and live it up.
ah, i didnt know about a storage thing behind the driver's seat
the only z's i have ever been in are touring
the one i will be getting will probably be a performance, so there will be a bin- yay!
yeah, i have a 19inch monitor, which will do well in a passenger seat, like always

im pretty much sold on this car
its mostly down to the Z, a protege 5, the murano (just a wee bit), and i dunno... possibly a bmw
im all over the place, i know, but thats just how it is

errrr, its a sports car. They're not meant to be practical, they're meant to be fast. If you went to a Ferrari Dealership and ask 'How practical is that new Enzo over there?' your gonna be laughed out of the dealership.
well, since it will [probably] be my only car while im in the air force, i will probably be needing some practicality- while at the same time butt kicking sports car power and all of that which makes the Z so superfantastic
You are probably who they had in mind when the G35 coupe was made, i say take a look, not that much slower than a Z. More practical, you could keep it until the kids get big enuf to complain about the backseat....
NO, like alphared said "...They're not meant to be practical, they're meant to be fast...
They are FUN and they are FAST!!!
I have a Max for the family, a Civic for work, and the Z is for me!
Peace

yeah
i figured there was little to no practicallity to the Z
i just had to wonder if maybe i had missed something, something that apparently the reviewers/editors of a couple of sites/magazines did see in it
like maybe 'hmmm... it seems there is a luggage teleportation button hidden under the edge of the driver's seat, how very practical, seeing as how there is no room for anything larger than 2 golfbags (apparently)'

My Z is so practical, I never have to drive anyone's fat *** around in the back seats. No more taxi service, no more "let's all go in your car". Now it's just me and my best friend or girlfriend. Someone else can ferry everyone around in their mini-van.
I play ice hockey and golf. I can fit two sets of clubs in the back, no prob. I can fit two HUGE hockey bags in the back and sticks down the middle no problem.
I don't give up any visibility either,
Suitcases fit for trips, what more do you want.

If you're into utility. Think in the lines of WRX STi, EVO, or the new Forrester. Both are in the same price range. But if you're into true sports car image and driving, utility is normally don't come with it. I cannot think of any sport car that are good in both other than the above. Porsche Cayanne which cost a lot more may also fit your bill. I chose Z over the above because I want a sport car, period. I'll buy an echo for utility.
If I wasn't married, with the wife driving the practical car (Toyota Highlander) I wouldn't get a Z, since you're never going to be able to do stuff like grocery shop or carry real luggage (like your mobility bags if you're in the AF). The Evo looks like a great choice for something faster than a Z and really practical. I really don't personally care for the Evo's looks, but it's a great car for performance and it has a back seat and a trunk.
BTW, are you just coming in the AF now?

As a single guy (I have a GF not Married)
Its pretty practical.
I get from A to B really fast and I look good doing it.
I can fit all of our grocieres in the back. There is enough room for all of my Ice Hockey equipment.
Any reptile supplies I have need again no problem. On long trips there is plenty of room for bags and anything else I need to cram back there.
For me no problems.

oct 1st is when i ship
i so hate the delayed enlistment program
dep can just go to hell, along with the worthless commander's calls (just had one today- woo, i got weighed, woo, i sat for hours, woo, we were all very bored, woo, then we did 10 minutes of movements and saluting practice... riveting)(and i had to take the day off for that?)
*sigh*
my brother is also in the air force, he went in a few weeks ago, he's still in basic, actually
next week is warrior week, he's exited about getting to fire the m16, im not, i have been around guns for a long time, and i like shooting... i dont like being told exactly what to shoot, how to shoot it, and how many bullets im allowed
my brother doesnt seem to see eye to eye with me on this
oh well

he's probably getting a wrx (possibly an sti)
