Default Salvage 07' black 350z

http://denver.craigslist.org/car/730505983.html

As some of you know, I'm looking for a 350 (and about to buy one from here) and I was checking the local listings and found this.

Its an 07 base, had to have the front bumper, hood, front brace, and radiator replaced. The guy really seems to think he is going to get 22k for a salvage 350z and is firm on price. I thought this was pretty humorous and thought I'd paste it here.

Not that much stupidity... I mean cmon its a SALVAGE title, that should give it away right then. You can find regular 350s that aren't salvaged for that price (and less!)

3 different locations in background, 2 of the pics have tints on the car and 1 doesn't, 1st pic has 6 star rims on front and 5star on rear, and 2nd pic has both 5star rims, and last pic has 6 star rims

that is a scam and has been reported...Salvage title cars are not all bad I picked up an 08 base salvage for 14k and put it back together for 4k paint and all. No frame damage just needed headlight, fender, bumper cover, and core support. Rides like a dream and I picked it up with 1900 miles and it is just now time for its first oil change. It makes for a nice daily driver until my GTR gets here. I say if you can find one for 10 to 12k salvaged and you have the resources and know how to put it back together and not spend a fortune...Go for it! you are driving the car not the title! I was amazed at how much car are made of plastic composites nowdays! Even the core support! no wonder it broke! It must be part of that absorb the hit tech that they use now. My old z32 has a metal core support but not the case in these newer cars now.

If you plan on ever selling a salvage title car you are pretty much never going to get a fair amount of money no mater how clean the"restoration" is and how much you cared for the car.

well that is not enirely true...I believe that you get what you get for things based upon the reputation that you build for yourself. I personally have owned 3 salvage title cars and sold them for more than I paid for them. People that know me, know that I am a meticulous person when it comes to having things. I also take great care of all my stuff. For example: The repaint on this car right now sucks...and that is because I am learning to paint. However, If I were to sell this car you can best believe that I would sand the whole thing down and paint and buff it the right way by means of someone elses labor. I have sold many thing to many people and it has allowed me to build a reputation of someone to buy from. I have even lost money on some deals because my reputation means that much more to me and I would rather you walk away from a deal totally satisfied instead of upset. It has all evened out for me in the long run. I slapped some clear bra on it and some rims, with tanabe springs and I am currently putting in a stereo system because I thought that I could hang with the stock one but it just sucks too much! This car will be my daily driver and my gtr will be my go getter and on occasion I will unleash the sr20det 510 that guzzles too much gas to get my old school thrill on with. I have no intentions to sell the 350 unless someone wanted to trade for a 07 or 08 salvage title g35 sedan then I would consider. peace!

here is my real pride and joy!

It probably depends when it was first registered for the road, not the actual build date, same with most of our cars.

Yeah don't do it, I got my 2007 for 23k OTD... With only 9k miles as well, search, search, search... I recommend Autotrader.com if you are looking for a used one, pick 5 or so, and send them all Lowball offers, and chances are, they will all except... Good Luck...

Insurance is a PITA with salvage titles. No salvage titled car is worth 3/4 of what the car is brand new. Only in some cases is buying a ST car worth it. Let's say a running Z for under 10K with little or no body damage.

lol, tint is different in the pictures as well as the rims. One pic has 03-04 rims and another has 05-07 rims. Then theres no tint then tint....I would just go new anyways..fold over the 4k more.

Wouldn't touche it with a 10 mile pole. I got my 04 Touring for 25K and you can find them cheaper without thew "S" of doom.

You never know what your getting with a Salvage Title. Sure they look brand new on the outside, but who knows what problems it could have in other areas.

Just pay a little more for a peace of mind.
