Be careful of the gsx, it will need repairs most likely. Their reliability is truly horrible. I don't know if you can afford to have your car in the shop all the time because something will always go wrong. If saving money is a priority, buy a different car because those repair bills will rack up.

I carfaxed it before I bought it. It's one owner, totally stock, regular maintenance. The only things wrong with it now are fault of basic wear and tear, i.e. warped rotors, struts are noisy, etc. Mechanically, every single piece of equipment or electronics works as it should, i.e. boost gauge, window motors, rear-wiper, etc.
Most the stuff I replaced was only for aesthetic purposes because the lack of tint caused severe fading through the upholstery. I also got a new shift **** because the stock one feels and looks like a banana.
I changed the radiator myself for $80, and its pretty simple, the engine bay of this car is much easier to work with. I'm mechanically and frugally inclined so most jobs are done quickly and cheaply.
The turbo is very responsive, the clutch grabs solid, the transmission is very quiet and smooth. And now I'm going to knock on wood for 30 minutes to cancel out all this jinxing.

Seriously man, I couldn't with a clear conscience, sell my Z knowing its going to a kid who is likely going to kill himself in it. Not to mention just having a chance to verbally slap a POS parent with some common sense by yanking the keys out of his hands.

What kind of parent buys a kid a Z as his/her first car? That's a death sentence. I know the guy was just trying to be a "cool" parent and everything, and I understand that, but at some level, you have to watch out for your child's safety and longevity. Kids drive fast. Period. And buying him a Z...that's like handing a suicidal-depressive a loaded handgun.
#1 killer of adolescents/young adults? Take a wild guess.

iceagetlc.........hey, I am from Lancaster, PA! I'll be checking the news when this kid ends up on the "First 11 @ 11" (catchy monologue for our retarded local news station). This is what is wrong with "parents" these days. They try to be a friend to their kids as opposed to being a PARENT!
I am a father and trust me, my daughter, if she were that age would NOT be driving around in a rear wheel drive sports car.
A-Hole parents! And you wonder why their kids grow up to be ingrates......or dead?

People who don't know how to drive RWD especially with the amount of torque the Z has is S.O.L. When I go to the Nissan body shop, the managers tells me that they get more totaled 350z's than any other car that Nissan has sold since the shop has opened. He brought me by 4 that were totaled and said three of the four were drivers who had never had a RWD previously when he talked to them.

I traded a 98 gsx that i bought new,for the nismo.Sorry folks, big mistake.Other than the sunroof seal,no problems. The nismo already has a new clutch, throwout bearing, slave cylinder(no mine was not in the recall),and pressure plate and i have not driven the car hard at all.The car was bought Feb 1st. and still has only 1700 miles on it.The gsx will handle circles around it and do it smoother too.I would sell it in a heartbeat but thats hard to do since the dealers can't give new ones away.If i do get lucky and move it then a evolution mr will take it's place. The only thing the nismo has over the evo is looks, nothing more.Sorry to rave but that's the way i feel.
