Default needing info on going to cruise control!

I have an 06' manual shift Enthusiast Z that did not have cruise control in it. I bought a factory steering wheel with the cruise on it. I've now installed the wheel in the car. And know im wondering Is there a kit, fuse, or anything else I need to do to bring it online to a working status? please PM me if you have any information that could help me out

It can't be done - there is more to CC than the button the steering wheel. And the other posters are correct - only the base came without CC.

We see this topic frequently. CC cannot be added to Base model.

either you car was in a wreck and the air bag blew and they replaced the wheel, or your car is not an enthusiast model.

first off, a base is the only Z that did not have cruise control. second, you can not add cruise control to one not equipped. if you do nto believe me, do a search and read

+1 if you search you will find there is no cost effective way to do it, can it be done sure but you'd save yourself the money by just selling your car and getting an enth. model

its not that easy...its not just putting in a fuse and a steering wheel, you need the control setup and sensors....

Let me say this one more time, You have a BASE model, which equates to, you don't have the wiring. Gl playing with those buttons because they will never work in your car!

I know I'll probably get flamed by all the people that responded to your original post, but here goes. After looking through the actual wiring diagram for the 2006 base and touring models and doing some hands on research with my own car, installing all required switches (sorry guys all wiring is installed already). I believe the only item that cannot be easily purchased to complete a cruise control install on a base model is the ECU. I think you would need to have a correct ECU (touring, enthusiast, etc) married to your car to complete the cruise control installation. I've asked this forum and others for info on trying this swap and received very little helpful advice and a lot of ridicule.

In theory, all you would need to do is swap ECUs. But once you do that, the new ECU is looking for features that your car doesn't have. For example, a touring ECU is going to be looking for the units for VDC which your base won't have. It will probably throw CELs and go into limp mode. Then what do you do, start adding all those other missing features?
