Little dings like those are a PITA! I make sure I always stick the carts in the median so it doesn't move.

I feel you, OP! Not too long ago, I got a door ding at my job's parking lot. Some bastard door checked my fender! Cost me $120'ish for a paintless dent removal guy to drill a hole in my door jamb and push the dent back out! Now, I have a black plug on my door jamb where he drilled!!!

Well mine was on the passenger side quarter panel. Right behind the door jamb.

If they can get it w/o drilling then it's not "necessary." With my ding...there was no way to get to it. They tried from the inside--removing the interior panels and they tried from under the car, to no avail. So, yeah. They drilled a small (1/4" hole) in my door jamb to stick the little picks and hammers, etc. inside.

oh god. i forsee drilling the wheel well. . . could a drilling there cause things like leakage or excess noise?

i guess they might be able to drill like yours. mine's probably a couple inches lower and further to the back than yours.

Aint that the truth.

Had my first dinger when I backed up into a utility box on accident. But every scratch or dent I see, I mope over. I feel the pain of the car it seems.

There shouldn't be an "open hole" afterwards. For mine, the guy put a plug in the hole. It's pretty air tight. It's just that my car is blue and the plug is black! Everytime I open the passenger side door...I see it, bright as day, right next to the door latch and warning stickers.

I'm thinking of dabbing some touch up paint on it but am afraid I may make it more of an eye-sore. I'm not very good with paint.

I usually park far away from other cars in parking lots but one day I was in a hurry and parked close to the front at Wal Mart. When I left my car there were no other cars around and I was only in the store for about 5 mins max.I came out to the car and found a huge ding in my passenger side door from a shopping cart. Whoever hit my car hit it hard enough to cause a 1/4 inch ding and chip the paint down to the bare metal. Sometimes I think it was done on purpose by haters!!!

you know what i hate is not only the rock chips but rock paint "dents" you get on your front bumper from driving fast on the highway... claybar or not it's inevitable unless you get a bra which i think is ugly, or 3m clear protective layer.

Yes the vinyl bra is ugly. The thing with a clear bra is, one major rock chip WILL rip through it and damage the bumper as well. It's mainly to protect against the "bug-chips." And a few of those and the bra will start to frey and look really bad.

My plan, is to have my front bumper repainted ever 3 years or so. The cost of repainting the bumper should be about as much as some clear bras (I've been quoted $500'ish installed for a clear bra).

sorry... didnt take any before pics. i guess i can get after pics... but you can basically pull up any pic of a normal z and it looks like that. if you guys have a dent that's bothering you, ask a pdr guy to check it out. the results are amazing.

Don't know about other places but around here you'll find carts left all over the lot so I always park way up towards the end where there generally are no cars or carts.
