Congrats on the upcoming baby. Cars will always be there. There may even be something you like better later on. The 450Z lol.

Or you could've waited till the last second before you gave the Z up. How come 4 months in advance?

Enjoy your new baby...they grow VERY fast. Pick them up every chance that you get because soon you won't be able to pick them up. Teach them everything you know...especially about the cars .

Congrats on the new addition!
This reminds me of when you go to friends house and the old man has pics of all these sweet rides and the one that got away. Car not women. Well that always saddened me. I don't want to be that guy. I've had two kids and am still holding on to the Z. Even though it is very unpractical and sits in the garage for days/weeks. i see it there and think I could use the money then i get in it and drive and i remember why i still keep it.

I don't quite understand the "getting rid of the Z because of a baby" thing.

My wife has an SUV.
I have a sports car.
My wife loves my sports car.
When we have a kid, we will have an SUV for family stuff, and I will keep my Z.

I guess I am missing something . . .

i wish i have the luxury to own more than one car.

My wife and I are about to close escrow on a 550k house in Irvine, California.
We put 70% of our savings for 20% down. We basically are in saving mode again. Now w/ the baby is about to be born, we try to save as much as possible w/ our $3,600 montly mortgage.

my daughter was born 5 months ago, but i kept my Z.

the wife has the "parent vehicle" plus i have another DD. you should've just got another ride with more room and kept the Z. but i am sure you thought of that already.

either way, welcome to parenthood..........fun stuff!

jim

edit - just read the post above. damn man, 550 grand? could've maybe got a smaller house and saved more? babies aint cheap.

Its Socal dude... A smaller or cheaper house would be a 1940's shack in a bad neighborhood.. Seriously tho 500k isnt expensive at all for California..

this is the reason why http://money.cnn.com/magazines/money...e/2008/top100/

Irvine has been one of the best cities to live in.

I bought a brandnew 1,300 square feet detached condo in Woodburry, Irvine. Not that big but enough for my small family.

Agree.

Location, location, location.

I could've bought a bigger house in a city near irvine but i rather live in a smaller house w/ good neighborhood than bigger house in not so good area.

I don't get why you got rid of the Z. I have a kid on the way and I did not get rid of my Z, I have 2 extra cars besides the Z plus my wife has her own. Just buy an extra car. If you can't afford a extra car you can't afford a kid.

maintaining and modding my Z is a second job. Money is a secondary factor here, only to time.

Personally, I can even afford the new GT-R but I rather put money into savings for my kid. I try to cut down whatever that is not nessessary including an extra car.
